According to the law of conservation of mass (mass remains the same throughout a reaction), mass is conserved in this case. This can be proven by comparing the weight of two enclosed glass containers of the reaction. They will most likely have the same weight because the products the chemical reaction creates would most likely produce a gas which can be trapped if there is no opening in the glass container. To further investigate, compare the weights of the products of the reaction with an enclosed container to another container with no lid of the same reaction.

Answer : The mass is conserved.

Explanation :

Law of conservation of mass : It states that mass can neither be created nor be destroyed but it can only be transformed from one form to another form.

This also means that total mass on the reactant side must be equal to the total mass on the product side.

The balanced chemical reaction always follow the law of conservation of mass.

Balanced chemical reaction : It is defined as the reaction in which the number of atoms of individual elements present on reactant side must be equal to the product side.

The balanced chemical reaction will be,

NaOH+HCl\rightarrow NaCl+H_2O

According to the law of conservation of mass,

Total mass of reactant side = Total mass of product side

Mass of NaOH + Mass of HCl = Mass of NaCl + Mass of H_2O

As we are given :

Mass of NaOH = 40 grams

Mass of HCl = 36.5 grams

So,

Total mass of reactant = Mass of NaOH + Mass of HCl

Total mass of reactant = 40 g + 36.5 g = 76.5 g

and,

Total mass of product = Mass of NaCl + Mass of H_2O

Total mass of product = (23+35.5)g + (2+16)g = 76.5 g

From this we conclude that,

Mass of reactant = Mass of product = 76.5 g

Hence, the mass is conserved.

True or false: the most easily ionizable elements are the most electronegative.
ehidna [41]
False, This is because when you can easily ionize and atom or the chances of it being ionizable are quite high, it means that that particular atom have very low ionization potential that is the reason why it was easily ionizable An atom with a high ionization power and a firmly negative electron fondness will both pull in electrons from different particles and oppose having its electrons taken away; it will be an exceedingly electronegative molecule.

Suppose that the pressure of 0.66 L of gas is 424.9 mm Hg when the temperature is 261.2 K. At what temperature is the volume 7.6
Sloan [31]

Answer:

 • Option a. 6200 K

Explanation:

1) Data:

 • V₁ = 0.66 liter
 • P₁ = 42.9 mmHg
 • T = 261.2 K

 • T₂ = ?
 • V₂ = 7.63 liter
 • P₂ = 872.15 mmHg

2) Formula:

Combined law of gases:

 • P₁ V₁ / T₁ = P₂ V₂ / T₂

3) Solution:

 • Solve for T₂:

T₂ = P₂ V₂ T₁ / (P₁ V₁)

 • Substitute:

T₂ = 872.15 mmHg × 7.63 liter × 261.2 K / ( 424.9 mmHg × 0.66 liter)

T₂ = 6198 K

 • Rounding to 2 significant figures, that is 6200 K, which is the first choice.
