A particle of mass 2.37 kg is subject to a force that is always pointed towards East or West but whose magnitude changes sinusoi

dally with time. With the positive x-axis pointed towards the East, the x-component of the force is given as follows:
Fx = F₀cos(ωt), where F₀ = 2 N and ω = 1.1 rad/s.
At t = 0 the particle is at x₀ = 0 and has the x-component of the velocity, vₓ = 0.
What is the x-component of velocity (vₓ) in meters per second at t= 1.5 seconds?

Answer:

v(1.5)=0.7648\ m/s

Explanation:

<u>Dynamics</u>

When a particle of mass m is subject to a net force F, it moves at an acceleration given by

\displaystyle a=\frac{F}{m}

The particle has a mass of m=2.37 Kg and the force is horizontal with a variable magnitude given by

F=2cos1.1t

The variable acceleration is calculated by:

\displaystyle a=\frac{F}{m}=\frac{2cos1.1t}{2.37}

a=0.8439cos1.1t

The instant velocity is the integral of the acceleration:

\displaystyle v(t)=\int_{t_o}^{t_1}a.dt

\displaystyle v(t)=\int_{0}^{1.5}0.8439cos1.1t.dt

Integrating

\displaystyle v(1.5)=0.7672sin1.1t \left |_0^{1.5}

\displaystyle v(1.5)=0.7672(sin1.1\cdot 1.5-sin1.1\cdot 0)

\boxed{v(1.5)=0.7648\ m/s}

How does metamorphic rock change into another type of metamorphic rock?
Marrrta [24]
Metamorphic rocks are formed by tremendous heat, great pressure, and chemical reactions. To change it into another type of metamorphic rock you have to reheat it and bury it deeper again beneath the Earth's surface.

Hope this helped! :)

Part A Determine the magnitude of the x component of F using scalar notation. Fx F x = nothing lb Request Answer Part B Determin
maksim [4K]

As we know that force F makes an angle of 60 degree with X axis

so the X component is given as

cos60 = \frac{F_x}{F}

now we have

F_x = F cos60

F_x = 0.50 F

Similarly we know that force F makes an angle of 45 degree with Y axis

so the X component is given as

cos45 = \frac{F_y}{F}

now we have

F_y = F cos45

F_y = 0.707 F

Now for the component along z axis we know that

F_x^2 + F_y^2 + F_z^2 = F^2

now plug in all components

(0.707 F)^2 + (0.50 F)^2 + F_z^2 = F^2

0.5 F^2 + 0.25 F^2 + F_z^2 = F^2

F_z^2 = F^2(1 - 0.75)

F_z^2 = 0.25 F^2

F_z = 0.5 F

1. Identify which of the following will not increase the current induced in a wire loop moving through a magnetic field. a. incr
djyliett [7]

Answer:

Rotating the loop until it is perpendicular to the field

Explanation:

Current is induced in a conductor when there is a change in magnetic flux.

The strength of the induced current in a wire loop moving through a magnetic field can be increased or decreased by the following methods:

By increasing the strength of the magnetic field there will be increased in the induced current. If the strength of the magnetic field is decreased then there is a decrease in induced current.

By increasing the speed of the wire there will be increased in the induced current. When the speed of the wire is decreased then there is a decrease in induced current.

By increasing the number of turns of the coil the strength of the induced current can be increased. when there is less number of turns in coils then there is a decrease in induced current.

Rotating the loop until it is perpendicular to the field will not increase the current induced in a wire loop moving through a magnetic field.

Therefore, the option is (c) is correct.
