Complete Question:

A soccer player pumps air into a soccer ball until no more air can be pushed inside.Use the particle model to predict what will happen if a sharp object creates a hole in the soccer ball.

Answer:

particles will rush out of the ball until the pressure is equal inside and outside the ball

Explanation:

We need to understand  when a ball is  pumped with air until no more air can be pushed inside, that  the particles inside the ball are closer together and bounce into each other more than the particles outside the ball  and this makes the pressure inside the ball greater than that outside.

Now when a sharp object creates a hole in the soccer ball the particle move from a place of high pressure to a place of lower pressure because the  force at the place of high pressure overpowers the force at the place of lower pressure.

What is the energy of a wave with wavelength of 4.2 x 10-7 m. (Hint: Calculate for frequency first.)
erik [133]

Answer:

Option B. 4.74×10¯¹⁹ J.

Explanation:

The following data were obtained from the question:

Wavelength (λ) = 4.2×10¯⁷ m

Energy (E) =.?

Next, we shall determine the frequency of the wave. This can be obtained as follow:

Wavelength (λ) = 4.2×10¯⁷ m

Velocity (v) = constant = 3×10⁸ m/s

Frequency (f) =.?

v = λf

3×10⁸ = 4.2×10¯⁷ × f

Divide both side by 4.2×10¯⁷

f = 3×10⁸ / 4.2×10¯⁷

f = 7.143×10¹⁴ s¯¹

Therefore, the frequency of the wave is 7.143×10¹⁴ s¯¹.

Finally, we shall determine the energy of the wave using the following formula

E = hf

Where

E is the energy.

h is the Planck's constant

f is the frequency

Thus, the enery of the wave can be obtained as follow:

Frequency (f) = 7.143×10¹⁴ s¯¹.

Planck's constant = 6.63×10¯³⁴ Js

Energy (E) =..?

E = hf

E = 6.63×10¯³⁴ × 7.14×10¹⁴

E = 4.74×10¯¹⁹ J

Therefore, the energy of the wave is 4.74×10¯¹⁹ J.

think about putting a glass of water on the counter, in the freezer, and on a hot stove how does the temperature of the water af
Shtirlitz [24]

The kinetic energy and the physical state of water depend strongly on the temperature;

  • Firstly, The kinetic energy of water on a hot stove is higher than that on the counter in the freezer; that the kinetic energy is directly proportional to the temperature according to the relation: K = \frac{3RT}{2NA} ; where R is the universal gas constant, T is the temperature and NA is Avogadro number.

As the temperature increases, the speed of colliding molecules increases and the kinetic energy increases.

  • Secondly, The physical state of water depends on the temperature; water has three states (gas, liquid and solid) depends on the temperature.
  • If a glass of water is putt on the counter in the freezer, it will be converted to the solid state (ice).
  • And, as if it is putt on a hot stove, it will be vapor (gaseous state).
