The graph of y = |x| - 12 can be transformed from y = |x| by:

Shift it downward by 12 units.

The whole shape of the two graphs will be the same.

Answer:

Both functions are similar, because basically they have the same behaviour, but the difference is that they start from a different vertex. The reason of this is because y=|x|-12 is a translation of y=|x|.

Basically, the first function is similar to the second one, but translated downwards 12 units.

So, they are similar in behaviour, we could say parallel, but different on the position of the vertex, the first is at y=-12, and the second one at y=0.

The graph of each function is attached, there you can observe the similarity and different we mentioned before.

The equation 2(5+7) = (2•5) + (2•7) illustrates what property?
wel

In this question, you're trying to figure out what property is being represented.

Your answer would be the Distributive Property

This is your answer because as you can see, you are "distributing" the 2 to the variables inside the parenthesis.

When you distribute the number, you would be multiplying, in which in this case there is multiplication.

Therefore, Distributive property would be the correct answer.

Solve x2+12x=-11 by completing the square . Which is the the solution set of the equation?
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

{- 11, - 1 }

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the coefficient of the x² term is 1 , to complete the square

add (half the coefficient of the x-term )² to both sides

x² + 2(6)x + 36 = - 11 + 36 ← complete the square on the left side

(x + 6)² = 25 ( take the square root of both sides

\sqrt{(x+6)^2} = ± \sqrt{25}

x + 6 = ± 5 ( subtract 6 from both sides )

x = - 6 ± 5

x = - 6 + 5 = - 1 or x = - 6 - 5 = - 11

A rectangle has vertices at these coordinates.(3,6), (3,4), (6,4)What are the coordinates of the fourth vertex of the rectangle?
omeli [17]
Hi, i hope this helps! The coordinates are (6,6). I figured this out by plotting the given points and remembering that a rectangle has parallel sides and right angles :))
