Convex lens is a converging lens, in which parallel rays of light pass through and refracted rays converge at one point called the principal focus. The characteristics of the images formed in a convex lens depends on the location of the object in front of a convex lens. For example when the object is located beyond 2F (center of curvature) the image formed will be real, inverted and diminished, and so forth for other positions of the object.

Images produce by convex lens are dependent on the focal length of the lens as well as the distance between the object and the lens. The distance between the center of the lens and the focal point is referred to as the focal length of the lense. At the focal point, light will converge as it passes through the lens. Lenses have the ability to create numerous different image sizes and orientations. Generally, the images are based on the lens' focal length as well as where the object is location.

A cylindrical can is partially filled with water. The radius of the cylindrical can is 8 inches, and its height is 9 inches. If
VashaNatasha [74]

The volume of the cylindrical can is given by:

V = πr²h

V = volume, r = base radius, h = height

Differentiate both sides of the equation with respect to time t. The radius r doesn't change over time, so we treat it as a constant:

dV/dt = πr²(dh/dt)

Given values:

dV/dt = -527in³/min

r = 8in

Plug in and solve for dh/dt:

-527 = π(8)²(dh/dt)

dh/dt = -2.62in/min

The height of the water is decreasing at a rate of 2.62in/min
