You have 750 g of water at 10°C in a large insulated beaker. How much boiling water at 100°C must you add to this beaker so that

the final
temperature of the mixture will be 75°C? For water, c = 4.19 x 103 J/(kg • K).

Answer:

Correct answer:  m₂ = 1,950 g

Explanation:

When mixing the liquid, in this case water, at different temperatures, the warmer liquid will cool and the cooler will warm up until their temperatures equalize.

The amount of heat that the second fluid (water) releases is equal to the amount of heat that the first fluid (water) receives in this spontaneous process.

Q₁ = Q₂

Q₁ = m₁ c (t - t₁)    and Q₂ = m₂ c (t₂ - t)

where are they:  m₁ = 750 g, t₁ = 10°C, t₂ = 100°C, t = 75°C, m₂ = ?

m₁ c (t - t₁)  = m₂ c (t₂ - t) \ : c

Since water is the liquid in question, it has the same specific heat capacity. Therefore, we will divide both sides of the equation by c and get:

m₁ (t - t₁)  = m₂ (t₂ - t) =>  m₂ = m₁ (t - t₁) / (t₂ - t) =>

m₂ = 750 · (75 - 10) / (100 - 75) => m₂ = 750 · 65 / 25 = 1,950 g

m₂ = 1,950 g

Give at least one fact about subatomic particles
victus00 [196]

Answer:

- Particles smaller than atoms are called subatomic particles .

- There are three famous subatomic particles, proton, neutron and electron .

- The study of sub atomic particles are called particle physics

- These particles can be divided as Brayons and Leptons

- These particles are often held together by one of the four fundamental particles ( Weak force, strong force, electromagnetic force, gravitational force).

Conduction occurs more easily between solids and liquids. This is because the particles in gases are A) further apart and move f
valkas [14]
The answer is A. Further apart and move faster.

Conduction in general is the transfer of energy from molecule to molecule through DIRECT CONTACT. In solids and liquids, the molecules are closer to each other; more so in solids than liquids. This enables them to pass energy more quickly. Gas molecules on the other hand are further apart and move faster because they have space to move more freely. Energy does not easily pass on to the next molecule because of the distance between the molecules.

Find the magnitude of the impulse delivered to a soccer ball when a player kicks it with a force of 1360 N. Assume that the play
Alona [7]

Answer:

7.59Ns

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Force  = 1360N

Time of contact  = 5.85 x 10⁻³s

Unknown:

Impulse  = ?

Solution:

The impulse of the ball is given as:

        Impulse  = Force x time

       Impulse  = 1360 x 5.85 x 10⁻³ = 7.59Ns
