A reaction vessel contains 2.50 moles of ci2 and 6.15 moles of f2 how many moles of excess reactant are left

Chemistry

Answer:

2.4moles

Explanation:

Number of moles of Cl₂ = 2.50moles

Number of moles of F₂ = 6.15moles

Unknown:

Moles of excess reactant left = ?

Solution:

The reaction equation:

              Cl₂  +  3F₂   →  2ClF₃

Now, we need to find the excess reactant;

       2 mole of chlorine gas combined with 3 mole of fluorine gas;

      2.5 moles of chlorine gas will combine with \frac{2.5 x 3}{2} = 3.75moles of F₂

The given number of moles of F₂ is 6.15moles

But the reaction needs 3.75 moles

The amount of excess reactant left  = 6.15 - 3.75 = 2.4moles

An electrolytic cell is set up to plate Zr(s) from a solution containing Zr4 (aq). A current of 7.92 amps is run through this so
iren [92.7K]

The mass of Zr deposited in the process is 41.4 g.

What is electrolytic cell?

An electrolytic cell is a chemical cell which produces electrical energy by non-spontaneous chemical processes.

From the question;

Zr^4+(aq) + 4e ------> Zr(s)

We know that;

91 g of Zr is deposited by 4(96500) C

xg of Zr is deposited by (7.92 × 6.16 × 60 × 60) C

xg = 91 g ×  (7.92 × 6.16 × 60 × 60) C/4(96500) C

x g = 41.4 g

What can you conclude about these two reactions based on the chemical equations? Reaction A: 6CO2(g) + 6H2O(l) + sunlight ? C6H1
OlgaM077 [116]

Given reactions:

(A)   6CO2(g) + 6H2O(l) + sunlight → C6H12O6(aq) + 6O2(g)

(B)  2H2(g) + O2(g) → 2H2O(g) + energy

Exothermic reactions are those which proceed with the release of heat/energy. In contrast, endothermic reactions proceed with the absorption of energy in the form of heat or light.

Since reaction A required sunlight, it is endothermic. Reaction B releases energy, hence exothermic

Ans: (B)

A is endothermic

B is exothermic

Which activity might help to increase the validity of this experiment?
MArishka [77]
A should be the answer because the more you test an experiment the more data you have to rely on changing the experiment would cause you to have different outcomes making the results different and unreliable so B, C, and D is not going to be the answer Hope this helps
