In a 30.0-s interval, 500 hailstones strike a glass window with an area of 0.600m2 at an angle of 45.0°to the window surface. Ea

or one hailstone we have;
Force = Mass X acceleration = 0.005kg x 9.8.} This is when the hailstone is not inclined at an angle.
When the hailstone is inclined at an angle of 45, then the component of force along the glass window will be F =0.005kg x 9.8 x sin45= 0.005kg x 9.8 x 0.707= 0.0346N.
Therefore, total force for the 500 hailstones would be 500x0.0346N=17.32N
This force is acting on an area equal to 0.600m2
Pressure = Force per unit area = 17.32N/0.600m2 = 28.9Pa

What evidence did wegener have to support his theory of plate tectonics?
PSYCHO15rus [73]

Answer:

Wegener first thought of this idea by noticing that the different large landmasses of the Earth almost fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. The continental shelf of the Americas fits closely to Africa and Europe, and other continents showed the same trend. Wegner also analyzed both sides of the Atlantic Ocean for rock type, geological structures and fossils and noticed that there was a significant similarity between matching sides of the continents, especially in fossil plants.

A wave travels at a frequency of 387 Hz. What is<br>the period of the wave?<br>
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

¹/₃₈₇ second

Explanation:

<em>The period of a wave is the reciprocal of its frequency.</em>

So, simply, the frequency is ¹/₃₈₇ second(s), as that is the reciprocal of the frequency, 387 Hz.

Svetllana [295]

Answer:

v \approx 9.312\,\frac{m}{s}

Explanation:

The Free Body Diagram of the system is presented in the image attached below. The final speed is determined by means of the Principle of Energy Conservation and the Work-Energy Theorem:

K_{A} + U_{g,A} = K_{B} + U_{g,B} + W_{loss}

K_{B} = K_{A} + U_{g,A}-U_{g,B} - W_{loss}

\frac{1}{2}\cdot m \cdot v^{2} = m\cdot g \cdot s\cdot \sin \theta - \mu_{k}\cdot m \cdot g \cdot s \cos \theta

\frac{1}{2}\cdot v^{2} = g\cdot s \cdot (\sin \theta - \mu_{k}\cdot \cos \theta)

v = \sqrt{2\cdot g \cdot s \cdot (\sin \theta - \mu_{k}\cdot \cos \theta)}

v = \sqrt{2\cdot (9.807\,\frac{m}{s^{2}} )\cdot (10\,m)\cdot (\sin 37^{\textdegree} - 0.2\cdot \cos 37^{\textdegree})}

v \approx 9.312\,\frac{m}{s}
