Find two numbers that multiply to -30 and add to 1, so -5 times 6 is -30 and -5 plus 6 is 1.

The factors would look like (x-5)(x+6).

X^2+x-30 is a quadratic equation. So we can solve by using many methods, most common and easiest being factoring and quad formula. Here we can just factor. So we get

(x-5)(x+6) meaning then x=5 and x=-6

Hope this helps! Any questions please just ask! Thank you so much!!

Suppose two random variables, X and Y are independent, which statement is false? a) P(X∣Y)=P(X) b) P(X∪Y)=P(X)+P(Y) c) P(X∩Y)=P(
Svetlanka [38]

B is false, since by the inclusion/exclusion principle,

P(X\cup Y)=P(X)+P(Y)-P(X\cap Y)

By independence, we have P(X\cap Y)=P(X)P(Y), which is zero if either of P(X) or P(Y) is 0, which isn't guaranteed.

I needed help on this
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Freda's sum = x

Donnie has 3/4 x

He spends 63 dollars. His sum is now

3/4x - 63

Now the equation looks like this

6(3/4x - 63) = x            Remove the brackets

6*3/4 x - 378 =x

6 * 3/4 = 4 1/2

4 1/2 x - 378 = x           Add 378 to both sides

4 1/2 x = x + 378          Subtract x from both sides

3.5 x = 378                  Divide by 3.5

x = 378 /3.5

x = 108

Since x = 108, that's how much Freda had. (She spent nothing).
