This solute-solvent interaction will release energy into the surroundings and makes the beaker warm.

Explanation:

The sulfuric acid is dissolved in water and it formed a solvation sphere of water molecules around the sulphur ions. So on stirring the beaker is getting warm. As the beaker is getting warm, this means the reaction occuring between sulfuric acid and water is exothermic reaction.

And so the energy is released into the surroundings. The energy released came from the breaking of bonds of sulfuric acid, as the acid is getting dissociated in water.

So, the release of energy in the surroundings lead to the warming of the beaker. Hence, the solute-solvent interaction release energy into the surroundings.

murzikaleks [220]

Answer: balanced chemical equation: Ba(NO_3)_2(aq)+Na_2SO_4(aq)\rightarrow BaSO_4(s)+2NaNO_3(aq)

Net ionic equation : Ba^{2+}(aq)+SO_4^{2-}(aq)\rightarrow BaSO_4(s)

Explanation:

A double displacement reaction is one in which exchange of ions take place. The salts which are soluble in water are designated by symbol (aq) and those which are insoluble in water and remain in solid form are represented by (s) after their chemical formulas.

The balanced chemical equation is:

Ba(NO_3)_2(aq)+Na_2SO_4(aq)\rightarrow BaSO_4(s)+2NaNO_3(aq)

Spectator ions are defined as the ions which does not get involved in a chemical equation or they are ions which are found on both the sides of the chemical reaction present in ionic form.

Ba^{2+}(aq)+2NO_3^-(aq)+2Na^+(aq)+SO_4^{2-}(aq)\rightarrow BaSO_4(s)+2Na^+(aq)+2NO_3^-(aq)

The ions which are present on both the sides of the equation are sodium and nitrate ions and hence are not involved in net ionic equation.

Hence, the net ionic equation is Ba^{2+}(aq)+SO_4^{2-}(aq)\rightarrow BaSO_4(s)

Calculate the percent activity of the radioactive isotope strontium-89 remaining after 5 half-lives.
maria [59]
The answer to this question would be: 3.125%

Half-life is the time needed for a radioactive molecule to decay half of its mass. In this case, the strontium-89 is already gone past 5 half lives. Then, the percentage of the mass left after 5 half-lives should be:
100%*(1/2^5)= 100%/32=3..125%

Zinc oxide adopts a face-centered cubic arrangement. Both Zinc ions and oxide ions adopt the face-centered cubic arrangement; wi
vichka [17]

Answer:

5.41 ×10⁻²²

Explanation:

We were told right from the question that both the Zinc ions and the Zinc oxide adopts a face-centered cubic arrangement.

Then, the number of ZnO molecule in one unit cell = 4

The standard molar mass of ZnO = 81.38g

Avogadro's constant = 6.023 × 10²³ mole

∴

The mass of one unit cell of zinc oxide can be calculated as:

= \frac{4*81.38}{6.023*10^{23}}

= 5.40461564×10⁻²²

≅ 5.41 ×10⁻²²

∴ The mass of one unit cell of zinc oxide = 5.41 ×10⁻²²

The energy that is released when hydrogen ions pass through ATP synthase provides the energy needed to form ADP and phosphate fr
MArishka [77]

Answer:

True.

Explanation:

This process is known as chemiosmosis in which there is a movement of ions across semipermeable membrane. Hydrogen ions moves from region of its higher concentration to the region of lower concentration. As this process belongs to the diffusion or osmosis of water molecules across cell membrane that is why known as chemiosmosis.

ATP synthase is an enzyme which function is to form ATP by using free energy generated in result of movement of hydrogen ions.
