Answer : The density of metal is, 2.5745 g/ml

Explanation : Given,

Length of rectangular metal bar = 8.53 cm

Width of rectangular metal bar = 2.4 cm

Height of rectangular metal bar = 1.0 cm

Mass of rectangular metal bar = 52.7064 g

First we have to determine the volume of rectangular metal bar.

Formula for volume of rectangle :

V=l\times b\times h

where,

V = volume of rectangular metal bar

l = length of rectangular metal bar

b = width of rectangular metal bar

h = height of rectangular metal bar

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get:

V=(8.53cm)\times (2.4cm)\times (1.0cm)

V=20.472cm^3=20.472ml

Now we have to determine the density of metal.

Formula used :

\text{Density}=\frac{\text{Mass}}{\text{Volume}}

\text{Density}=\frac{52.7064g}{20.472ml}

\text{Density}=2.5745g/ml

Therefore, the density of metal is, 2.5745 g/ml

The mass of ice is the same as water because during a physical change, like a state change, mass is conserved. When the ice melts, all that changes is the physical state.
