Answer:

It will be converted into thermal energy

Explanation:

In an ideal world, energy can be converted from one  form into another without any loss of energy.

However, in the real world this does not really happen, because there are some frictional forces always acting on the system we are considering. Because of this, part of the mechanical energy of the system is always converted into thermal energy (as heat), and it cannot be "retrieved" back, so it becomes a form of energy that cannot be used anymore.

In this example, the initial mechanical energy of the system is the elastic potential energy of the spring, which is

U = 10 J

Later, when the spring is released, this energy is converted into kinetic energy of the moving car. However, as we are told, only part of this energy is actually converted, which is

K = 8 J

However, the law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but only transformed: this means that the other 2 J of energy have not been actually destroyed, but they have only been converted into another form of energy, which is thermal energy, due to the presence of frictional forces.

Which formula represents final velocity of an object with average acceleration?
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

The equation v – = v 0 + v 2 v – = v 0 + v 2 is reflects the fact that when acceleration is constant, v – is just the simple average of the initial and final velocities.

Write the realtionship between the density of a liquid and its upthrust? clarify
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

B = ρ g V_liquid

the thrust is proportional to the density of the liquid

Explanation:

The density of a liquid is defined as the relationship between the mass and the volume of the liquid

         ρ = m / V

The upward push of the liquid is given by the principle of Archimedes Archimedes establishes that the push is equal to the weight of the dislodged liquid

        B = W_liquid

        B = m _liquid g

we substitute mass for density

        B = ρ g V_liquid

therefore we see that the thrust is proportional to the density of the liquid

If a ball is thrown alt 96 m/s, and it travels 3 seconds, what is the total distance the ball travelec
Evgen [1.6K]

Answer: 288 m

Explanation: 288 m is the correct answer because the question states that the ball is thrown at 96 m every second, and our question tells us that the ball travels 3 seconds. This means we have to multiply 96 x 3 = 288 m.
