Answer : The new density and new volume of carbon dioxide gas is 0.2281 g/L and 7.2m^3 respectively.

Explanation :

First we have to calculate the new or final volume of carbon dioxide gas.

Combined gas law is the combination of Boyle's law, Charles's law and Gay-Lussac's law.

The combined gas equation is,

\frac{P_1V_1}{T_1}=\frac{P_2V_2}{T_2}

where,

P_1 = initial pressure of gas = 10 kPa

P_2 = final pressure of gas = 15 kPa

V_1 = initial volume of gas = 10m^3

V_2 = final volume of gas = ?

T_1 = initial temperature of gas = 50^oC=273+50=323K

T_2 = final temperature of gas = 75^oC=273+75=348K

Now put all the given values in the above equation, we get:

\frac{10kPa\times 10m^3}{323K}=\frac{15kPa\times V_2}{348K}

V_2=7.2m^3

The new volume of carbon dioxide gas is 7.2m^3

Now we have to calculate the new density of carbon dioxide gas.

PV=nRT\\\\PV=\frac{m}{M}RT\\\\P=\frac{m}{V}\frac{RT}{M}\\\\P=\rho \frac{RT}{M}\\\\\rho=\frac{PM}{RT}

Formula for new density will be:

\rho_2=\frac{P_2M}{RT_2}

where,

P_2 = new pressure of gas = 15 kPa

T_2 = new temperature of gas = 75^oC=273+75=348K

M = molar mass of carbon dioxide gas = 44 g/mole

R = gas constant = 8.314 L.kPa/mol.K

\rho = new density

Now put all the given values in the above equation, we get:

\rho_2=\frac{(15kPa)\times (44g/mole)}{(8.314L.kPa/mol.K)\times (348K)}

\rho_2=0.2281g/L

The new density of carbon dioxide gas is 0.2281 g/L

Which are characteristics of medusae?
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

Are sessile, have tentacles, mouths open downwards

Explanation:

Medusae may have many tentacles with which they catch their prey. Sometimes, people bathing in the ocean are touched by a medusa. Their tentacles are long and thin and covered in venomous stinging cells (known as nematocysts). They inject poison which immobilizes small fish. People who are stung should seek medical attention. There have been some deaths after severe medusa stings.

A chemist measures the amount of fluorine gas produced during an experiment. He finds that 482. g of fluorine gas is produced.
nata0808 [166]

Answer: 25.37055324733817mol

Approximately 25.371mol

Explanation: Number of moles of a substance is the mass of that substance containing the same amount of fundamental units, for instance atom in 12.0g of 12°C

Therefore:

Number of moles= mass/ molecular mass

Where mass of fluorine given= 482g

Standard Molecular mass of fluorine= 18.9984032g/mol

Substituting value in equation

Mole= 482g/18.9984032g/mol = 25.37055324733817mol

Approximately : 25.371mol

How many liters of a 0.0550 M NaF solution contain 0.163 moles of NaF?
Kobotan [32]

Answer : The volume of solution will be 2.96 liters.

Explanation :

Molarity : It is defined as the number of moles of solute present in one liter of volume of solution.

Formula used :

\text{Molarity}=\frac{\text{Moles of solute}}{\text{Volume of solution (in L)}}

In this question, the solute is NaF.

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get:

0.0550M=\frac{0.163mole}{\text{Volume of solution (in L)}}

\text{Volume of solution (in L)}=\frac{0.163mole}{0.0550M}

\text{Volume of solution (in L)}=2.96L

Therefore, the volume of solution will be 2.96 liters.

What is the density of 10.2 mL of corn syrup that has a mass of 10.00 g?
maksim [4K]

Answer:

0.98 g/mL

Explanation:

We know that the density of an object can be measured by dividing its mass (g) to its volume (mL).

Formula

D=m/v

Given data:

Mass= 10.00 g

Volume= 10.2 mL

Now we will put the values in formula:

D= 10.00 g/ 10.2 mL= 0.98 g/mL

So the density of corn syrup is 0.98 g/mL.
