In a Young's double-slit experiment the separation distance y between the second-order bright fringe and the central bright frin
atroni [7]

Answer:

Y = 0.0254 m = 25.4 mm

Explanation:

The formula for the fringe spacing in Young's Double-slit experiment is given by the following formula:

Y = \frac{\lambda L}{d}

where,

Y = fringe spacing = 0.0176 m

λ = wavelength = 425 nm = 4.25 x 10⁻⁷ m

L = Distance between screen and slits

d = slit separation

Therefore,

\frac{0.0176\ m}{4.25\ x\ 10^{-7}\ m} = \frac{L}{d}\\\\\frac{L}{d} =  41411.76

Now, for:

λ = 614 nm = 6.14 x 10⁻⁷ m

Y = (6.14\ x\ 10^{-7}\ m)(41411.76)\\

<u>Y = 0.0254 m = 25.4 mm</u>

A car starts from rest and acquires a velocity of 50m/s in 3secs. Calculate i) acceleration ii) distance covered.
mafiozo [28]

Answer: 75.02 m

Explanation:

u = 0 ( starts from rest )

v = 50 m/s

t = 3 s

( i ) a = v - u / t

= 50 - 0 /3

= 16.67

( ii ) s = ut + 1/2 at²

= 0 × 3 + 1/2 × 16.67 × 3 × 3

= <u>75.02 m</u>

Hope this helps...

the gravitational force between two objects is 1600 and what will be the gravitational force between the objects if the distance
Xelga [282]

I believe this is what you have to do:

The force between a mass M and a point mass m is represented by

F = G\frac{Mm}{r^{2} }

So lets compare it to the original force before it doubles, it would just be the exact formula so lets call that F₁

So F₁ = G(Mm/r^2)

Now the distance has doubled so lets account for this in F₂:

F₂ = G(Mm/(2r)^2)

Now square the 2 that gives you four and we can pull that out in front to give

F₂ = \frac{1}{4} G(Mm/r^2)

Now we can replace G(Mm/r^2) with F₁ as that is the value of the force before alterations

now we see that:

F₂ = \frac{1}{4} F₁

So the second force will be 0.25 (1/4) x 1600 or 400 N.
