These are three examples of friction from daily life:

1. Walking:

When we walk, the force of friction between our shoes and the road help us moving forward. If there is no friction between the two, we may slip or fall down.

2. Driving:

The force of friction between tires and road allow vehicle to move smoothly, applying break and accelerate. If there is no friction, car could not accelerate on the road.

3. Take off:

The taking off of a flight on runway is good example of friction. Friction force allow to reducing speed and stopping the plane movement.

A certain signal molecule S in heart tissue is degraded by two different biochemical pathways: when only Path 1 is active, the h
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

Half life of S = 3.76secs

Explanation:

The concept of half life in radioactivity is applied. Half life is the time taken for a radioactive material to decay to half of its initial size.

For part 1 - How much signal will be degraded in 1secs = 1/3.9 = 0.2564

for part 2 - How much signal will be degraded in 1secs = 1/104 = 0.009615

Simply say = 1/3.9 + 1/104 = 0.266015

So both part 1 and part 2 took 1/0.266015 = 3.76secs is the half life of S when both pathways are active

A 6.25 L tank holds helium gas at a pressure of 1759 psi. A second 6.25 L tank holds oxygen at a pressure of 467.7 psi. The two
rodikova [14]

Answer:

P=1113.35 psi

Explanation:

For tank 1

V₁= 6.25 L

P₁=1759 psi

For tank 2

V₂=6.25 L

P₂=467.7 psi

Lets take final pressure is P

The final volume V= 6.25 + 6.25 L = 12.5 L

P V = V₂P₂+V₁P₁

Now by putting the values

P V = V₂P₂+V₁P₁

P x 12.5 = 6.25 x 467.7+6.25 x 1759

P=1113.35 psi

So the final volume of the system will be 1113.35 psi.

Suppose the equation of the velocity of a car at any given time is Vx= 30m/s+(2.5m/s^3)t^2 Find the change in the velocity of th
mario62 [17]

Answer:

time=4, answer choice A

time=5.5, answer choice B

Explanation:

This is taken from the kinematic equation, v=vo+(1/2)at^2

Velocity at time 4 = 30+(2.5)(4)^2

Velocity at time 5.5 = 30+(2.5)(5.5)^2

Velocity at time 4 seconds = 70 m/s

Velocity at time 5.5 seconds = 105.63 m/s

How fast will a cart be moving if a force of 200 N is applied to a 50 kg cart for 10 sec?
jeka94

Acceleration = (force) / (mass)

If there is no friction . . .

Acceleration = (200N) / (50 kg) = 4m/s²

Change in speed = (acceleration) x (time) = (4 m/s²) x (10 sec) = 40 m/s

Final speed = (speed of the cart before the force began) + (40 m/s more)

(That's about 89 mph faster than the cart was moving before the force started.)
