here can be a number of chemical processes by which a compounds can be broken down into simpler substances. The most common and wide-spread of such processes is Catabolism. Along with anabolism, catabolism make up the metabolism process for living organisms. In catabolism, complex chemical molecules (such as proteins, polysaccharides, etc.) are broken down into simpler molecules (such as amino acids, monosaccharides, etc.). This is often accompanied by release of energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) molecules and intermediate metabolites (which can be used by the organism in the anabolic processes). The energy thus generated is used for operation and maintenance of cells (and consequently, the body).

Other processes that break down chemical substances into simpler substances, include depolymerization, decomposition, etc.

Hope this helps.

Using the thermodynamic information in the ALEKS Data tab, calculate the boiling point of titanium tetrachloride . Round your an
ddd [48]

Answer:

The boiling point is 308.27 K (35.27°C)

Explanation:

The chemical reaction for the boiling of titanium tetrachloride is shown below:

TiCl_{4(l)} ⇒ TiCl_{4(g)}

ΔH°_{f} (TiCl_{4(l)}) = -804.2 kJ/mol

ΔH°_{f} (TiCl_{4(g)}) = -763.2 kJ/mol

Therefore,

ΔH°_{f} = ΔH°_{f} (TiCl_{4(g)}) - ΔH°_{f} (TiCl_{4(l)}) = -763.2 - (-804.2) = 41 kJ/mol = 41000 J/mol

Similarly,

s°(TiCl_{4(l)}) = 221.9 J/(mol*K)

s°(TiCl_{4(g)}) = 354.9 J/(mol*K)

Therefore,

s° = s° (TiCl_{4(g)}) - s°(TiCl_{4(l)}) = 354.9 - 221.9 = 133 J/(mol*K)

Thus, T = ΔH°_{f} /s° = [41000 J/mol]/[133 J/(mol*K)] = 308. 27 K or 35.27°C

Therefore, the boiling point of titanium tetrachloride is 308.27 K or 35.27°C.

Explain how scientific knowledge and reasoning can help us make difficult decisions.
ch4aika [34]
<span> Scientific reasoning consists of observation, forming a workable hypothesis and arriving at a conclusion. Almost without exception major scientific discoveries were made and are being made today based on these same precepts. It only seems logical when an individual makes a difficult decision he/she will apply all or part of these processes. Let;s say that you want to make someone;s acquaintance to possibly become serious. Certainly, you would begin by quietly observing them, then you might make a hypothesis, "This person might make a good companion for me." Then in your conclusion you would test your hypothesis and proceed as directed. THis may be a bit simplistic, and I hope that it helps.</span>
