Answer:

g' = 13.5 m/s²

Explanation:

The acceleration due to gravity on surface of earth is given by the formula:

g = GMe/Re²   --------------- euation 1

where,

g = acceleration due to gravity on surface of earth

G = Universal Gravitational Constant

Me = Mass of Earth

Re = Radius of Earth

Now, the the acceleration due to gravity on the surface of Kepler-62e is:

g' = GM'/R'²   --------------- euation 1

where,

g' = acceleration due to gravity on surface of Kepler-62e

G = Universal Gravitational Constant

M' = Mass of Kepler-62e = 3.57 Me

R' = Radius of Kepler-62e = 1.61 Re

Therefore,

g' = G(3.57 Me)/(1.61 Re)²

g' = 1.38 GMe/Re²

using equation 1:

g' = 1.38 g

where,

g = 9.8 m/s²

Therefore,

g' = 1.38(9.8 m/s²)

<u>g' = 13.5 m/s²</u>

An athlete needs to lose weight and decides to do it by "pumping iron." (a) How many times must an 60.0 kg weight be lifted a di
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

a) 37171

b) 20650.5 sec

Explanation:

m = mass of the weight being lifted = 60.0 kg

d = distance by which the weight is lifted = 0.670 m

E = Energy available to burn = 1 lb = 3500 kcal = 3500 x 4184 J

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

n = number of times the weight is lifted

Energy available to burn is given as

E = n m g d

3500 x 4184 = n (60) (9.8) (0.670)

n = 37171

b)

T = time period for each lift up = 1.80 s

t = total time taken

Total time taken is given as

t = \frac{n}{T}

t = \frac{37171}{1.80}

t = 20650.5 sec

A single sports fan is capable of yelling at an intensity level of 80 decibels from a given distance. If 10,000 similar fans wer
AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

The correct answer is part 'c' 160 dB

Explanation:

When noise levels of different intensities are superimposed the resultant intensity is given by the equation

L_{avg}=20log(\frac{1}{N}\sum_{i=1}^{N}(10^{\frac{L_{i}}{20}}))\\

where,

L_{i} is the intensity of a general sound level

Since we have 10000 fans each producing sound of 80dB thus the resultant intensity is given using the above formula as

L_{avg}=20log(\frac{1}{10000}\sum_{i=1}^{10000}(10^{\frac{80}{20}}))\\

\therefore L_{eq}=160dB
