XA = PA/PA^0

XA = 22.98/23.76 = 0.9671

0.9671 : 0.0328

bi = ni/msolvent

0.9672 * 18.015/1 mol = 17.42 g H2O

bi = 0.0328 mol urea/17.42 g H2O * 1000

bi = 1.88 m

hope this helps

It takes 500 J of work to compress a spring 10 cm. What is the force constant of the spring? (b) When a 3.0 kg block is pushed a
NARA [144]

Answer:

Explanation:

a) Energy stored in spring = 1/2 k x² = .5 x k 0.1²

500 = 5 x 10⁻³ k ,

k = (500/5) x 10³ = 10⁵ N/m

b )

k = 4.5 x 10¹ = 45 N/m

Stored energy = 1/2 k x² = .5 x 45 x 8² x 10⁻⁴ =1440 x 10⁻⁴ J

This energy gets dissipated by friction .

work done by friction = μ mg d

d is the distance traveled under friction

so 1440 x 10⁻⁴ = μ x 3 x 9.8 x 2

μ = 245 x 10⁻⁴ or 0.00245 which appears to be very small. .

A quantity that has direction as well as size is a scalar.

True or False
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

A quantity that does not depend on the direction is called a scalar quantity. Vector quantities have two characteristics, a magnitude, and a direction. Scalar quantities have only a magnitude. When comparing two vector quantities of the same type, you have to compare both the magnitude and the direction.

Scalar quantities only have magnitude (size). Scalar quantities include distance...

A quantity that is specified by both size and direction is a vector. Displacement includes both size and direction and is an example of a vector. However, distance is a physical quantity that does not include a direction and isn't a vector.
