An arrow in flight has an initial velocity of 65 meters per second and 10 seconds later it has a velocity of 35 meters per secon

d. which is the acceleration of the arrow?

From the question, we know that after 10 seconds are passed the velocity GOES DOWN.

Based on that, we can infer that the acceleration of the arrow will be negative.

in 10 seconds, the velocity goes down 30 meter/second,  (65 - 35)

so it would be 30/10  =  -3 m/s/s in the same direction of travel

Explanation:

Given that,

Initial velocity of arrow, u = 65 m/s

Final velocity of arrow, v = 35 m/s

Time taken, t = 10 seconds

The acceleration of the arrow is given by the rate of change of velocity per unit time. It is given by :

a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}

a=\dfrac{35\ m/s-65\ m/s}{10\ s}

a=-3\ m/s^2

The arrow in flight is decelerating. Hence, this is the required solution.

zavuch27 [327]

Explanation:

It is given that,

Diameter of the peach pie, d = 9 inches

Radius of the pie, r = 4.5 inches

The tray is rotated such that the rim of the pie plate moves through a distance of 183 inches, d = 183 inches

Let \theta is the angular distance that the pie plate has moved through.

It is given by :

\theta=\dfrac{d}{r}

\theta=\dfrac{183}{4.5}

\theta=40.66\ radian

Since, 1 radian = 57.29 degrees

\theta=2329.64\ degrees

Since, 1 radian = 0.159155 revolution

\theta=6.47124\ revolution

Hence, this is the required solution.

A wire is carrying current vertically downward. What is the direction of the force due to Earth's magnetic field on the wire?
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer:

The direction of the force will be towards the east

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The direction of the  downward

Generally according to Fleming's right-hand rule(

          Thumb -  direction of force

           Middle finger -  direction of current

           Index finger -  direction of the magnetic field

) and the fact that the earth magnetic field acts  from south to north with respect to the four cardinal points then the direction of the  force will be toward the east with respect to the four cardinal point on the earth

How fast did Newton decide a cannon ball shot out in order to escape Earth’s gravity?
arsen [322]

Plugging in for the Earth's mass and for G, we have 11.2 km/s for the escape velocity for an object launched from the Earth's surface. This is about 25,000 miles per hour
