Answer:

energy is transferred to the water as heat is 50 J

Explanation:

given data

compress = 0.1 m

force = 1000 N

to find out

how much energy is transferred to the water as heat

solution

we know total energy store in spring transfer to water as heat with 100 % efficiency

so

we use force formula that is

force = - kx     ..............1

here k is spring constant and x is length

so k will be from equation 1

1000 = - k ( 0.1)

magnitudes of k = 10^{4} N/m

and

energy store in spring is

energy = \frac{1}{2} kx^2

energy = \frac{1}{2} 10^{4} *(0.1)^2

so energy = 50 J

True or false solids possess a greater level of kinetic energy than gases
Kipish [7]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

Solid particles have the least amount of energy, and gas particles have the greatest amount of energy. The temperature of a substance is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles. A change in phase may occur when the energy of the particles is changed.

How do you calculate the refractive index of a material using the critical angle? (GCSE Physics)
Helga [31]

Answer:

µ = \frac{1}{sinC}

Explanation:

µ = 1/ sinC

µ -----> refractive index of medium

C ----> critical angle

Hope this helps!
