What is the total number of electrons in a S2– ion?
(1) 10 (3) 16
(2) 14 (4) 18
jeka57 [31]
Sulfur normally has 16 electrons (see the periodic table), but the 2- indicates that the atom is gaining 2 electrons. because of that, the answer would be 18.
hope this helped!

Which of the following has the largest % of sodium, 20g of sodium fluoride, 20g of sodium chloride, or 20g of sodium bromide?
Ksenya-84 [330]
The one whose molar mass is smaller than sodium.

Fluorine is 19 g
Chlorine= 35.5 g
Bromine= 80 g

so in sodium fluoride, the percent of sodium is the largest.

Consider the following reaction: SO2Cl2(g)⇌SO2(g)+Cl2(g) A reaction mixture is made containing an initial [SO2Cl2] of 2.2×10−2M
Andrej [43]
The value of equilibrium constant is equal to the quotient of the products raised to its stoichiometric coefficient over the reaction's reactants raised to its respective stoichiometric coeff. The equation is Kc=[SO2][Cl2]/[SO2Cl2]= [1.3*10^-2][1.3*10^-2]/[2.2*10^-2-1.3*10^-2]=0.0188. The final answer is Kc=0.0188.

Given the following balanced equation, determine the rate of reaction with respect to [SO3]. If the rate of O2 loss is 3.56 x 10
Olenka [21]

Answer:

7.12 × 10⁻³ M/s

Explanation:

Step 1: Write the balanced reaction

2 SO₂ + O₂ ⇒ 2 SO₃

Step 2: Establish the appropriate molar ratio

According to the balanced equation, the molar ratio of O₂ to SO₃ is 1:2.

Step 3: Calculate the rate of formation of SO₃

The rate of loss of O₂ is 3.56 × 10⁻³ mol O₂/L.s. The rate of formation of SO₃ is:

3.56 × 10⁻³ mol O₂/L.s. × 2 mol SO₃/1 mol O₂ = 7.12 × 10⁻³ mol SO₃/L.s
