Answer:

Options B and C are the two criteria that are most essential

Explanation:

When trying to develop a novel process, it is important that the new process involves the use of equipment that can be operated safely by workers so as to prevent death or injury in the cause of handling this equipment. If this equipment is seen not to be safe or cannot be handled safely by workers, it can/will force workers to previous or alternative methods that require more safe equipment.

Also, the process must be able to maximize the most of the reactants, i.e the process must be able to convert a good percentage of the reactants into the desired product (phosphorus pentachloride) since that is the focus. This will also lead to reduction of byproducts produced which could be useful or otherwise (a loss).

Cuales son los cambios que siempre envuelven cambios en la compocision de la sustancia?
QveST [7]

I already answered this question in Spanish language. Now I answer in English.

Answer: the chemical changes.

Explanation:

We understand by composition of a substance to the proportion (ratio or percentage) of each element (type of atoms) that makes up the same, as well as the way in which these elements are linked (chemical bonds).

A chemical change is a process, also called a chemical reaction, in which one or more substances are converted into different substances.

The resulting substances are different because their composition is different, since some chemical bonds have been broken and others have been formed, giving rise to a new structure. The chemical formula of each compound product of the chemical change will present a different combination of atoms, in ratio or structure.

Given the E0 values of the following two half-reactions: Zn  Zn2+ + 2e- E0 = 0.763 volt Fe  Fe2+ + 2e- E0 = 0.441 volt a) Writ

Answer:

For a: The balanced chemical equation is written below.

For b: The corrosion of iron pipe will take place in the presence of zinc.

For c: Zinc will not protect iron pipe from corrosion.

Explanation:

  • For a:

The given half reaction follows:

The substance having highest positive E^o potential will always get reduced and will undergo reduction reaction. Here, zinc will undergo reduction reaction will get reduced.

Oxidation half reaction: Zn\rightarrow Zn^{2+}+2e^-;E^o_{Zn^{2+}/Zn}=-0.763V

Reduction half reaction: Fe+2e^-\rightarrow Fe;E^o_{Fe^{2+}/Fe}=-0.441V

The balanced chemical equation follows:

Fe+Zn^{2+}\rightarrow Fe^{2+}+Zn

  • For b:

For a reaction to be spontaneous (thermodynamically feasible) , the standard electrode potential must be positive.

To calculate the E^o_{cell} of the reaction, we use the equation:

E^o_{cell}=E^o_{cathode}-E^o_{anode}

Substance getting oxidized always act as anode and the one getting reduced always act as cathode.

Calculating the E^o_{cell} using above equation, we get:

E^o_{cell}=-0.441-(-0.763)=0.322V

As, the EMF is coming out to be positive, the reaction will be thermodynamically feasible and corrosion of iron pipe will take place in the presence of zinc.

  • For c:

As, the EMF of the cell is positive, the zinc will not protect the iron pipe from corrosion and the reaction will take place.

A 10.00 mL sample of vinegar (an aqueous solution of acetic acid) is titrated with 0.5062 M NaOH(aq) and 16.58 mL is required to
sammy [17]

Answer:

5.01%

Explanation:

Density of vinegar = mass/volume

Mass of 10.00 mL = density x volume

                           = 1.006 x 10 = 10.06 g

From the equation of reaction:

CH_3COOH(aq)+NaOH(aq)-->CH_3COONa(aq)+H_2O(l)

1 mole pf CH3COOH requires 1 mole of NaOH for neutralization.

mole of NaOH = molarity x volume

                      = 0.5062 x 0.01658

                       = 0.008392796‬ mole

0.008392796‬ mole of NaOH will therefore require 0.008392796‬ mole of CH3COOH.

mass of CH3COOH = mole x molar mass

                                     = 0.008392796‬ x 60.052

                                      = 0.504 g

Percentage by mass of acetic acid in the vinegar = 0.504/10.06 x 100%

    = 5.01%

The percent by mass of acetic acid in the vinegar is 5.01%

The independent variable is the one we are changing in the experiment. As we change it, the dependent variable might also change.

C. the density of the rock because we are changing the density of the rock and seeing how all other variables change with regards to the density.
