Answer:

h = 22.35 m

Explanation:

given,

initial speed of the rock,u = 0 m/s

length of the window,l = 2.7 m

time taken to cross the window,t = 0.129 s

Speed of the rock when it crosses the window

v = \dfrac{l}{t}

v = \dfrac{2.7}{0.129}

  v = 20.93 m/s

height of the building above the window

using equation of motion

v² = u² + 2 g h

20.93² = 0² + 2 x 9.8 x h

h = 22.35 m

Hence, the height of the building above the top of window is equal to h = 22.35 m

Objects of equal mass are oscillating up and down in simple harmonic motion on two different vertical springs. The spring consta
olga55 [171]

Answer:1080 N/m

Explanation:

Given

Spring constant of first Spring K_1=245 N/m

mass of both the system is same

Both system have same maximum velocity

if x=A\sin \omega t is general equation of SHM

then maximum velocity is given by

v_{max}=A\omega

\omega =\sqrt{\frac{k}{m}}

v_1_{max}=A_1\omega _1

\omega _1=\sqrt{\frac{k_1}{m}}

similarly \omega _2=\sqrt{\frac{k_2}{m}}

also A_1=2A_2

so A_1\times \sqrt{\frac{k_1}{m}}=A_2\times \sqrt{\frac{k_2}{m}}

2\times \sqrt{k_1}=\sqrt{k_2}

k_2=4k_1

k_2=4\times 245=1080 N/m

Predict the energy transformation that occurs when carson sands a piece of wood with sandpaper.
tigry1 [53]

Answer:

Explanation:

The hand provides Kinetic Energy in moving.

The KE is transformed to Frictional energy

The Frictional Energy can produce heat and light energy.

The sandpaper produces little shreds from the grit of the paper.

The shreds have KE (they move)

An interference pattern is produced by light with a wavelength 580 nm from a distant source incident on two identical parallel s
irakobra [83]

Answer:

Explanation:

1 )

Here

wave length used that is λ = 580 nm

=580 x 10⁻⁹

distance between slit d = .46 mm

= .46 x 10⁻³

Angular position of first order interference maxima

= λ / d radian

= 580 x 10⁻⁹ / .46 x 10⁻³

= 0.126 x 10⁻² radian

2 )

Angular position of second order interference maxima

2 x  0.126 x 10⁻² radian

= 0.252 x 10⁻² radian

3 )

For intensity distribution the formula is

I = I₀ cos²δ/2 ( δ is phase difference of two lights.

For angular position of θ1

δ = .126 x 10⁻² radian

I = I₀ cos².126x 10⁻²/2

= I₀ X .998

For angular position of θ2

I = I₀ cos².126x2x 10⁻²/2

=  I₀ cos².126x 10⁻²
