<span>One mole of carbon weighs 12 grams and one mole of hydrogen weighs 1 gram. Therefore, one mole of CH2 weighs 12 + 1 + 1 = 14 grams.

56 divided by 14 = 4

Therefore, you need 4 "moles" of CH2 to equal 56 grams of the unknown substance. To get the equivalent of 4 "moles" of CH2 you need one mole of C4H8.

Hope this helps :)

To find the molecular formula from the empirical formula, you need to find a multiple (x) that will give you the molar mass of the compound which in the question is 56 g/mol.

If CH₂ is the empirical formula
 molar mass of empirical formula = (12 × 1) + (1 × 2) g/mol
                                                     =  14 g/mol
let x = multiple
let molecular formula = Cₓ H₂ₓ

            multiple = molecular mass ÷ empirical mass
                         =  56 g/mol ÷  14 g/mol
                         =  4

If molecular formula = Cₓ H₂ₓ
then molecular formula = C₄H₂₍₄₎
                                      = C₄H₈

erik [133]

Answer:

\% Fe^{+2}=70%

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, we could considering this as a redox titration:

Fe^{+2}+(Cr_2O_7)^{-2}\rightarrow Fe^{+3}+Cr^{+3}

Thus, the balance turns out (by adding both hydrogen ions and water):

Fe^{+2}\rightarrow Fe^{+3}+1e^-\\(Cr_2^{+6}O_7)^{-2}+14H^++6e^-\rightarrow 2Cr^{+3}+7H_2O\\\\6Fe^{+2}+(Cr_2^{+6}O_7)^{-2}+14H^++6e^-\rightarrow Cr^{+3}+7H_2O+6Fe^{+3}+6e^-

Thus, by stoichiometry, the grams of Fe+2 ions result:

m_{Fe^{+2}}=0.04021\frac{molK_2Cr_2O_7}{L}*0.02872L*\frac{6molFe^{+2}}{1molK_2Cr_2O_7}*\frac{56gFe^{+2}}{1molFe^{+2}}=0.388gFe^{+2}

Finally, the mass percent is:

\% Fe^{+2}=\frac{0.388g}{0.5562g}*100\%\\  \% Fe^{+2}=70%

Best regards.

Velocity is the slope of the acceleration vs. time graph.<br>O<br>A. True<br>False
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

The slope of a velocity-time graph gives acceleration. Acceleration can be defined as the change in velocity with time.

A slope denotes the gradient of line. It takes into consideration the changes on both y and x axis. The ratio of the changes gives the slope.

On a velocity-time graph, the y-axis is the velocity and the x-axis is time. The change in velocity with time gives acceleration.

The slope of an acceleration

-time graph is not velocity.

A(n) ____________ is a high energy electron released from a nucleus during radioactive decay.
jonny [76]

Answer:

beta

Explanation:

A beta particle (symbol β) is a high-speed and high-energy electron which is emitted by radioactive decay of the atomic nucleus during process of the beta decay.

Strontium-90 is material which is most commonly used to produce the beta particles.

Beta particles are used to treat conditions such as eye as well as bone cancer.
