Hm ok, so the answer here would be k=6, and heres why:

So to solve these types of problems you must first separate the variables from the rest of the equation. Normally it is the Y variable if there is multiple variables like X and Y.

In this case, K is basically our Y. This is what the the first step for any problem like this:

18=k+12\\\\-12+18=k+12-12

The reason for this is to get the like types of variables, such as numbers and letters, on the same side.

NOW IF you come across a different question that has something like this:

3k

I'm using K and the same equation basically to keep things simple, but it's also true if there is a number next to a Y.... and sometimes X.

IF you see something like this, the next step to solve is this:

6=3k\\\\\frac{6=3k}{3} \\2=k

Anything after the first NOW IF is irrelevant to this question, but please keep it in mind just in case, ok? It may save you some work later.

ps. could you please mark me Brainlyest? I kinda need it to maintain and reach my next rank... thx

Triss [41]

Answer:

36 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Let m = mass of green tea.

The total mixture should be (18*3.5+2.6*m)/(18+m) = 2.9

The numerator is $, denominator is kg

Therefore 63+2.6m = 52.2+2.9m

0.3m = 10.8

3m = 108

m = 36

The area of a trapezoid is 69.6 in2 and its altitude is 8.7 in. Find the perimeter of the trapezoid if the sum of its legs is eq
Murljashka [212]
To answer this, you will find the sum of the bases by using the area of a trapezoid formula:

A = 1/2 x h x (b1 + b2) - You will represent the area of the 2 bases as x, because it says the sum of the bases so this can be
                                     written as 1 term, x
69.6 = 1/2 x 8.7 x (x);  solve for x
69.6 = 4.35x; divide both sides by 4.35
x = 16 in.

If 16 inches is the sum of the 2 bases and the sum of the legs, than you will double this answer to find the perimeter.

16 in x 2 = 32 inches

The perimeter is 32 inches.
