The package should be dropped <u>678 m</u> short of the target.

A package dropped from a plane which is moving at a speed v, has a horizontal velocity equal to the horizontal velocity of the plane. It has a parabolic trajectory, traversing a horizontal range x while it falls through a vertical height y.

The package has no initial vertical velocity, and it falls through a height y under the action of the acceleration due to gravity g.

Use the equation,

y=\frac{1}{2} gt^2

Write an expression for t, the time taken for the package to fall through y.

t^2=\frac{2y}{g}

Substitute 100 m for y and 9.81m/s² for g.

t^2=\frac{2y}{g}\\ =\frac{2(100m)}{9.81m/s^2} \\ =20.39s^2\\ t=4.52s

In the time t  the package travels a horizontal distance x. The horizontal velocity of the package remains constant, since no force acts along the horizontal direction.

Therefore, the horizontal distance traveled by the package is given by,

x=vt\\ =(150m/s)(4.52s)\\ =678m

If the package is released <u>678m</u> before the target, the package would reach the scientists working in Greenland.

The truck travels for 1.5 hours as it makes the 90 mile trip from the warehouse to the store. What was the average speed in mile
andrezito [222]

Answer: 60 mph

Explanation:

Given

Truck takes 1.5\ hr to make 90\ mile trip

The average speed is the ratio of total distance traveled to the total time taken.

v_{avg}=\dfrac{\text{Distance}}{\text{time}}\\\\v_{avg}=\dfrac{90}{1.5}\\v_{avg}=60\ mph

Part A What is the purpose of the dot convention? What is the purpose of the dot convention? to determine where mutual inductanc
ryzh [129]

Answer:

Option B,  to establish the reference polarity for induced voltages

Explanation:

Dot basically indicates the polarity of the electrical windings. Currents entering and leaving the same dotted ends will produce magnetic flux in same direction while the current entering at one dotted end and leaving at another dotted end   will produce opposing magnetic flux.

Thus it is clear that dot represents the terminals having same phases of induced AC voltages so that only one winding is loaded at a time.

Hence, option  B is correct

What force is left out of the Quantum Mechanics theory?
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

Quantum mechanics is a key hypothesis in material science that gives a portrayal of the actual properties of nature at the size of iotas and subatomic particles. It is the establishment of all quantum physical science including quantum science, quantum field hypothesis, quantum innovation, and quantum data science.

Explanation:

It is the greatest of issues, it is the littlest of issues. At present physicists have two separate rule books clarifying how nature functions. There is general relativity, which perfectly represents gravity and everything it overwhelms: circling planets, impacting worlds, the elements of the growing universe all in all. That is enormous. At that point there is quantum mechanics, which handles the other three powers – electromagnetism and the two atomic powers. Quantum hypothesis is very proficient at portraying what happens when a uranium molecule rots, or when singular particles of light hit a sun based cell. That is little.

A jetliner rolls down the runway with constant acceleration from rest, it reaches its take off speed of 250 km/h in 1 min. What
nlexa [21]

Answer:

Acceleration, a=14970.05\ km/h^2

Explanation:

Given that,

Initially, the jetliner is at rest, u = 0

Final speed of the jetliner, v = 250 km/h

Time taken, t = 1 min = 0.0167 h

We need to find the acceleration of the jetliner. The mathematical expression for the acceleration is given by :

a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}

a=\dfrac{250}{0.0167}

a=14970.05\ km/h^2

So, the acceleration of the jetliner is 14970.05\ km/h^2. Hence, this is the required solution.
