Answer:

The second ball moves with 0.83 m/s forward.

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the first ball, m₁ = 3 kg

initial velocity of the first ball, u₁ = 5 m/s

final velocity of the first ball, v₁ = 2.5 m/s

mass of the second ball, m₂ = 9kg

initial velocity of the second ball, u₂ = 0

final velocity of the second ball, v₂ = ?

From the principle of conservation of linear momentum;

m₁u₁ + m₂u₂ = m₁v₁ + m₂v₂

(3x5) + (9x0) = (3x2.5) + (9v₂)

15 = 7.5 + 9v₂

15 - 7.5 = 9v₂

9v₂ = 7.5

v₂ = 7.5/9

v₂ = 0.83 m/s

The second ball moves with 0.83 m/s forward.

The equation of a transverse wave traveling along a very long string is y 6.0 sin(0.020px 4.0pt), where x and y are expressed in
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

given

y=6.0sin(0.020px + 4.0pt)

the general wave equation moving in the positive directionis

y(x,t) = ymsin(kx -?t)

a) the amplitude is

ym = 6.0cm

b)

we have the angular wave number as

k = 2p /?

or

? = 2p / 0.020p

=1.0*102cm

c)

the frequency is

f = ?/2p

= 4p/2p

= 2.0 Hz

d)

the wave speed is

v = f?

= (100cm)(2.0Hz)

= 2.0*102cm/s

e)

since the trignometric function is (kx -?t) , sothe wave propagates in th -x direction

f)

the maximum transverse speed is

umax =2pfym

= 2p(2.0Hz)(6.0cm)

= 75cm/s

g)

we have

y(3.5cm ,0.26s) = 6.0cmsin[0.020p(3.5) +4.0p(0.26)]

= -2.0cm

Which of kepler’s laws explains why the sun has a slightly larger angular diameter in january than in july?
Bond [772]

Kepler’s three law is the answer. Kepler’s 3 is the amount of time it takes to orbit the sun is related to size and distance.  Kepler’s 3 is one of the planetary motion and can be stated as all planets move in elliptical orbits, having the sun sits at one of the foci.

Who showed that our universe is heliocentric—the planets of the solar system revolve around the sun? Johannes Kepler Isaac Newto
denis23 [38]

Answer:

Option (3)

Explanation:

Nicolaus Copernicus was an astronomer from Poland, who was born on the 19th of February in the year 1473. He played a great role in the field of modern astronomy.

He was the person who contributed to the heliocentric theory. This theory describes the position of the sun in the middle of the universe, and all the planets move around the sun. This theory was initially not accepted, and after about a century it was widely accepted.

This theory describes the present-day motion of the planets around the sun in the solar system. This theory replaced the geocentric theory.

Thus, the correct answer is option (3).
