That mostly depends on the molecule. Simple molecules such as H2O (water) have one oxygen that is connected to two hydrogen atoms building a molecule of water that has two covalent bonds. However, organic compounds have significantly more complex molecules that consist of a large number of different chemicals.

BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

1) Rosa needs glucose from the food she ate and oxygen from the air she breathes

2) She firstly undergird digestion, which breaks down the food into glucose. The glucose is absorbed by each cell

3) Her cells produce energy via the process of cellular respiration

Explanation:

To perform any activity, cellular energy in form of ATP is needed. However, this energy is derived via a process called CELLULAR RESPIRATION, which uses the products of digestion of the food we eat and oxygen.

According to this question, Rosa eats a peanut butter sandwich for lunch and plans to go for a run later in the afternoon.

1) To get energy which is needed for her run, Rosa needs glucose from the peanut butter sandwich she ate and oxygen from the air she is breathing to synthesize this energy.

2) The peanut butter sandwich first undergoes digestion i.e. breakdown into glucose, which is then absorbed by her cells in order to use. Oxygen from air is taken in by the lungs and diffused into her cells. In a nutshell, digestive system and respiratory system works together to carry out this task.

3) The cells use the oxygen and glucose in a process called CELLULAR RESPIRATION to produce energy (ATP). This occurs in three stages namely: glycolysis (occurs in the cytoplasm), Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation, which both occurs in the mitochondria.

Determine the volume of fluid in the graduated cylinder shown.
Sladkaya [172]

Answer:

22.5 mL

Explanation:

We are given an amount of a fluid in a graduated cylinder and required to determine its volume.

Liquids always take the shape of the container they are placed in. In the graduated cylinder shown, note how the top of the fluid curves downwards. The volume of the liquid is usually determined at the bottom of this curve or what is called the meniscus.

The bottom of the meniscus is at the 22.5 mL level and thus the volume of the fluid is 22.5 mL

what kind of evidence indicates a chemical change ?... a physical change? you may use examples to show softened.
SOVA2 [1]
Some things that can indicate a chemical change are change of odor, change of color, change in temperature or energy, such as the production or loss of heat. An example could be the rusting of metal, there would be a color change of going from a shiny silver to a dirty, splotchy red color. Some things that indicate a physical change are change of appearance like change of shape, etc. It can also be like a change between a solid to liquid to gas. For example, the cutting of a piece of paper.

The following equation represents the type of reaction called
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

Reduction

Explanation:

Reduction:

Reduction involve the gain of electron and oxidation number is decreased.

Mn⁺⁷ +3e⁻    →    Mn⁴⁺

Mn gets three electrons , its oxidation state reduced from +7 to +4 so Mn gets reduced.

Examples:

Consider the following reactions.

4KI + 2CuCl₂  →   2CuI  + I₂  + 4KCl

the oxidation state of copper is changed from +2 to +1 so copper get reduced.

CO + H₂O   →  CO₂ + H₂

the oxidation state of carbon is +2 on reactant  side and on product side it becomes  +4 so carbon get oxidized.

H₂S + 2NaOH → Na₂S + 2H₂O

The oxidation sate of sulfur is -2 on reactant side and in product side it is also -2 so it neither oxidized nor reduced.
