If heat is energy being transferred between hot and cold water, why would it be incorrect to say that temperature measures heat?

For the same reason that the amount of water you pour into a container doesn't tell me the depth. The depth in a teapot and a swimming pool are different even if you pour the same amount of water into both of them.

The temperature change of a boxcar load of lead and a gallon jug of Oxygen are different, even if you transfer the same amount of heat into both of them.

Loss of a beta particle
zlopas [31]
When a beta particle is emitted from the nucleus the nucleus has one more proton and one less neutron. This means the atomic mass number remains unchanged and the atomic number increases by 1.
We can also say that beta decay is a type of radioactive decay in which a proton is transformed into a neutron inside an atomic nucleus.

An 80 kg long jumper in flight accelerates at a rate of 10 m/s^2. What is the force of the long jumper
Katarina [22]

Answer:

F = 800 N

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass = 80 Kg

Acceleration = 10 m/s²

Force = ?

Solution:

Formula:

F = m × a

F = force

m = mass

a = acceleration

Now we will put the values in formula:

F = m × a

F = 80 kg × 10 m/s²

F = 800 kg.m/s²

kg.m/s² = N

F = 800 N

How does doubling the volume of solvent affect the concentration of the solution?
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

Molarity is halved when the volume of solvent is doubled.

Explanation:

Using the dilution equation (volume 1)(molarity 1)=(volume 2)(molarity 2), we can demonstrate the effects of doubling volume.

Suppose the starting volume is 1 L and the starting molarity is 1 M, and doubling the volume would make the final volume 2 L.

Plugging these numbers into the equation, we can figure out the final molarity.

(1 L)(1 M)=(2 L)(X M)

X M= (1 L x 1 M)/(2 L)

X M= 1/2 M

This shows that the molarity is halved when the volume of solvent is doubled.
