The seconds hand of a clock completes one full revolution around
the face of the clock every minute.

One full revolution = 360 degrees.

The hand revolves  (360 degrees / 60 seconds) = 6 degrees per second.

The tip of the hand travels in a circle, and covers the circumference
of the circle every minute.  The circumference of a circle is

                           (2π) x (radius of the circle).

The length of the hand is the radius of the circle that it travels in,
so the circumference of the circle is

                            (2π) x (6.5 cm)  centimeters.

The tip of the hand covers this distance in 60 seconds,
so its speed is

                             (13π cm) / (60 seconds)  =  0.681 cm/sec.

A holiday ornament in the shape of a hollow sphere with mass M = 1.50×10−2 kg and radius R = 5.50×10−2 m is hung from a tree lim
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

T = 0.607 seconds

Explanation:

Given:

Mass, M = 1.50 × 10⁻² kg

Radius, R = 5.50 × 10⁻² m

Now,

the time period in terms of moment of inertia is given as:

T = 2\pi\sqrt\frac{I}{mgR}    .....................1

where, T is the time period

g is the acceleration due to gravity

I is the moment of inertia

Now,

Moment of inertia, I is given as:

I = \frac{5mR^{2}}{3}

on substituting the moment of inertia in the equation 1, we get

T = 2\pi\sqrt\frac{\frac{5mR^{2}}{3}}{mgR}

or

T = 2\pi\sqrt\frac{{5R}}{3g}

on substituting the valeus, we get

T = 2\pi\sqrt\frac{{5\times5.50\times10^{-2}}}{3\times9.8}

or

T = 0.607 seconds

Hence, the time period is 0.607 seconds

In the kitchen of your house you would like to run a 240 W blender, a 30 W phone charger, a 720 W toaster oven, and two 120 W li
meriva

Current pulled by these appliances is 10.25 A

Explanation:

  • Step 1: Find the total power used by these appliances.

Total power = 240 + 30 + 720 + (2 × 120) = 1230 W

  • Step 2: Given voltage is 120 V, find the current by using the formula Power = Voltage × Current

⇒ Current(I) = P/V = 1230/120 = 10.25 A
