Sound travels at a rate of 340 m/s in all directions through air. Matt rings a very loud bell at one location, and Steve hears i

t some time later at his location 450 meters to the south. How long did it take the sound to travel from the bell to Steve's location?

Distance= speed x time
450=340xt
t=450/340
t=1.32s

The floor of a railroad flatcar is loaded with loose crates having a coefficient of static friction of 0.320 with the floor. If
mart [117]

Answer:  29.50 m

Explanation: In order to calculate the higher accelation to stop a train  without moving the crates inside the wagon which is traveling at constat speed we have to use the second Newton law so that:

f=μ*N the friction force is equal to coefficient of static friction  multiply the normal force (m*g).

f=m.a=μ*N= m*a= μ*m*g= m*a

then

a=μ*g=0.32*9.8m/s^2= 3.14 m/s^2

With this value we can determine the short distance to stop the train

as follows:

x= vo*t- (a/2)* t^2

Vf=0= vo-a*t then t=vo/a

Finally; x=vo*vo/a-a/2*(vo/a)^2=vo^2/2a= (49*1000/3600)^2/(2*3.14)=29.50 m

a pillow , a textbook and a paper airplane are dropped from the top of a tall building at the same time. consider what you have
MAVERICK [17]

A textbook would hit the ground first

Factors:

-Textbook weighs most

-Pillow is flat and fluffy not very aerodynamic) also is very light

-Paper airplane will glide to the ground do to its wings and will hit the ground last

Physics approach to study macromoelcues at nanoscales <br> in detail plx
erastova [34]

Answer:

Abstracto

Positive Charge is distributed along the entire x axis with a uniform density 12 nC/m. A proton is placed at a position of 1.00
lions [1.4K]

Answer:

b.  \Delta KE = 390 eV

Explanation:

As we know that the electric field due to infinite line charge is given as

E =\frac{\lambda}{2\pi \epsilon_0 r}

here we can find potential difference between two points using the relation

\Delta V = \int E.dr

now we have

\Delta V = \int(\frac{\lambda}{2\pi \epsilon_0 r}).dr

now we have

\Delta V = \frac{\lambda}{2\pi \epsilon_0}ln(\frac{r_2}{r_1})

now plug in all values in it

\Delta V = \frac{12\times 10^{-9}}{2\pi \epsilon_0}ln(\frac{1+5}{1})

\Delta V = 216ln6 = 387 V

now we know by energy conservation

\Delta KE = q\Delta V

\Delta KE = (e)(387V) = 387 eV
