The diffuser in a jet engine is designed to decrease the kinetic energy of the air entering the engine compressor without any wo

rk or heat interactions. Calculate the velocity at the exit of a diffuser when air at 100 kPa and 30°C enters it with a velocity of 350 m/s and the exit state is 200 kPa and 90°C. (Page 216).

Answer:

V₂=43.58 m/s

Explanation:

Given that

P₂=200 KPa

T₂=90°C

V₂=? m/s ( exit speed)

T₁=30°C

P₁=100 KPa

V₁=350 m/s

We know that

Heat capacity for air Cp=1.005 KJ/kg.k

We know that for air change in enthalpy only depends only on temperature

Now from first law for open system

h_1+\dfrac{V_1^2}{2000}=h_2+\dfrac{V_2^2}{2000}+W

1.005\times 303+\dfrac{350^2}{2000}=1.005\times 363+\dfrac{V_2^2}{2000}

1.005\times 303+\dfrac{350^2}{2000}-1.005\times 363=\dfrac{V_2^2}{2000}

\dfrac{V_2^2}{2000}=0.95

V₂=43.58 m/s

Complete function PrintPopcornTime(), with int parameter bagOunces, and void return type. If bagOunces is less than 3, print "To
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

#include <iostream>

using namespace std;

void PrintPopcornTime(int bagOunces) {

if(bagOunces < 3){

 cout << "Too small";

 cout << endl;

}

else if(bagOunces > 10){

 cout << "Too large";

 cout << endl;

}

else{

 cout << (6 * bagOunces) << " seconds" << endl;

}

}

int main() {

  PrintPopcornTime(7);

  return 0;

}

Explanation:

Using C++ to write the program. In line 1 we define the header "#include <iostream>"  that defines the standard input/output stream objects. In line 2 "using namespace std" gives me the ability to use classes or functions, From lines 5 to 17 we define the function "PrintPopcornTime(), with int parameter bagOunces" Line 19 we can then call the function using 7 as the argument "PrintPopcornTime(7);" to get the expected output.

Which explanation best identifies why the company in the following scenario has decided against investing in solar energy?
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

The company found the cost of the required photovoltaic cells too expensive.

Explanation:

Solar energy can be used as an alternative source of supply for fuel. Solar energy is a renewable source of energy, that is it keeps on replenishing every day. Also solar energy does not require a lot of maintenance.

The cost required is starting a solar system is very high because one needs to buy solar panel, photovoltaic cells for batteries, inverters and so on.

From the question, the company decided against solar energy for the time being. This means that probably in the future they might consider it. Therefore it is as a result of the economic situation of the company that they have not set up a solar system because the cost of the required photovoltaic cells too expensive.

Getting the bottom of your feet burned when walking on hot sand is due to what form of energy transmission? group of answer choi
Scilla [17]

Getting the bottom of your feet burned when walking on hot sand is due to a form of energy transmission known as conduction.

<h3>The types of energy transmission.</h3>

In Science, there are three (3) main types of energy transmission and these include the following:

  • Convection
  • Radiation
  • Conduction

In this scenario, we can infer and logically conclude that burning the bottom of your feet when walking on hot sand is primarily due to a form of energy transmission known as conduction because it involves the transfer of thermal energy (heat) due to the movement of particles.

Given a 12-bit A/D converter operating over a voltage range from ????5 V to 5 V, how much does the input voltage have to change,
Doss [256]

Answer:

2.44 mV

Explanation:

This question has to be one of analog quantization size questions and as such, we use the formula

Q = (V₂ - V₁) / 2^n

Where

n = 12

V₂ = higher voltage, 5 V

V₁ = lower voltage, -5 V

Q = is the change in voltage were looking for

On applying the formula and substitutiting the values we have

Q = (5 - -5) / 2^12

Q = 10 / 4096

Q = 0.00244 V, or we say, 2.44 mV
