A proton moving at 8.00 106 m/s through a magnetic field of magnitude 1.72 T experiences a magnetic force of magnitude 7.20 10-1

3 N. What is the angle between the proton's velocity and the field? (Enter both possible answers from smallest to largest. Enter only positive values between 0 and 360.)

Answer:

19.1 deg

Explanation:

v = speed of the proton = 8 x 10⁶ m/s

B = magnitude of the magnetic field = 1.72 T

q = magnitude of charge on the proton = 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ C

F = magnitude of magnetic force on the proton = 7.20 x 10⁻¹³ N

θ = Angle between proton's velocity and magnetic field

magnitude of magnetic force on the proton is given as

F = q v B Sinθ

7.20 x 10⁻¹³ = (1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹) (8 x 10⁶) (1.72) Sinθ

Sinθ = 0.327

θ = 19.1 deg

In his motorboat, Bill Ruhberg travels upstream at top speed to his favorite fishing spot, a distance of 120120 mi, in 33 hr.
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

The rate of the boat in still water is 44 mph and the rate of the current is 4 mph

Explanation:

x = the rate of the boat in still water

y = the rate of the current.

Distance travelled = 120 mi

Time taken upstream = 3 hr

Time taken downstream = 2.5 hr

Speed = Distance / Time

Speed upstream

\frac{120}{3}=x-y\\\Rightarrow 40=x-y

Speed downstream

\frac{120}{2.5}=x+y\\\Rightarrow 48=x+y

Adding both the equations

48+40=x-y+x+y\\\Rightarrow 88=2x\\\Rightarrow 44=x

40=44-y\\\Rightarrow 40-44=-y\\\Rightarrow y=4

The rate of the boat in still water is 44 mph and the rate of the current is 4 mph

Earth is about 93 million miles from the Sun but only 239,000 miles from the Moon. Likewise, the Sun has a mass that is over 20
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

Gravity is dependent on the mass of two bodies and the distance between them. There is a strong gravitational attraction between Earth and the Moon because they’re relatively close to one another. There is a strong gravitational attraction between Earth and the Sun because the Sun is so massive

The mass of an atom is
suter [353]

Answer:

Atomic mass is defined as the number of protons and neutrons in an atom, where each proton and neutron has a mass of approximately 1 amu (1.0073 and 1.0087, respectively). The electrons within an atom are so miniscule compared to protons and neutrons that their mass is negligible.

I hope this is the answer you were looking for :D

Which describes an atom that has fewer neutrons than protons and more electrons than protons?
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

negative ion

Explanation:

An atom that has fewer neutrons than protons and more electrons than protons is a negative ion.

The positively charged particles in an atom are the protons

The negatively charged particles in an atom are the electrons.

  The charge an atom carries depends on the balance between the number of protons and electrons in an atom.

  • When the number of protons is more than the number of electrons, the atom is positively charged.
  • When the number of electrons is more than the number of protons, the atom is negatively charged.

A tennis ball, 0.314 kg, is accelerated at a rate of 164 m/s2 when hit by a professional tennis player. What force does the play
SVEN [57.7K]
Newton's 2nd law of motion:

                    Force = (mass) x (acceleration)

                             = (0.314 kg) x (164 m/s²)

                             =    51.5 newtons

                         (about 11.6 pounds) .

Notice that the ball is only accelerating while it's in contact with the racket.
The instant the ball loses contact with the racket, it stops accelerating, and
sails off in a straight line at whatever speed it had when it left the strings.
