Answer:

11.3 g/cm³

Explanation:

Data Given:

Diameter of lead ball = 10.0 mm

Convert mm to cubic centimeter (cm³)

1 mm = 0.1 cm

So,

10.0 mm = 10.0 x 0.1 = 1 cm

mass of lead ball = 5.910 g

density of of lead ball =?

Solution:

To find density formula will be used

            d = m/V ...........(1)

where

d = density

m = mass

V = volume

So,

To find the density of the lead ball (sphere), first we have to find volume of the ball.

To find volume of the ball following formula will be used

                   V = 4 . π . r³/ 3 ..............(2)

where

π = 3.14

r = radius

So,

  • r = D/2

as

  • D = 1 cm

So, radius will be

     r = 1 cm / 2

     r = 0.5 cm

Now put values in formula 2

                   V = (4)(3.14)(0.5cm)³/ 3

                   V = (12.56)(0.125 cm³) /3

                   V = 1.57 cm³/3

                   V = 0.523 cm³

So, the volume of the lead ball is 0.523 cm³

Now put values in equation 1

                     d = m/V

                      d = 5.910 g / 0.523 cm³

                      d = 11.3 g/cm³

Density of the lead ball = 11.3 g/cm³

What mass (g) of AgBr is formed when 41.8 mL of 0.152 M AgNO3 is treated with an excess of aqueous hydrobromic acid?
jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

m AgBr = 1.193 g

Explanation:

  • AgNO3 + HBr → AgBr + HNO3

∴ V AgNO3 = 41.8 mL = 0.0418 L

∴ [ AgNO3 ] = 0.152 mol/L

∴ Mw AgBr = 187.77 g/mol

⇒ n AgNO3 = (0.0418 L)(0.152 mol/L) = 6.3536 E-3 mol AgNO3

⇒ n AgBr = (6.3536 E-3 mol AgNO3)(mol AgBr/mol AgNO3) = 6.3536 E-3 mol AgBr

⇒ m AgBr =  (6.3536 E-3 mol AgBr)(187.77 g/mol) = 1.193 g AgBr

What is the oxidation number of chromium in the ionic compound ammonium dichromate (nh4)2cr2o7?
lesya692 [45]
The oxidation number of an element is the number of electrons that are gained or lost by the element to form a chemical bond.
the net oxidation number of the ion is its charge.
compound (NH₄)₂Cr₂O₇ is made of cation - NH₄⁺ and anion - Cr₂O₇²⁻
oxidation number of ion - -2
(oxidation number of Cr x 2 Cr atoms) +(oxidation number of O x 7 O atoms )= -2
oxidation number of Cr = y
oxidation number of O = -2
(y x 2) + (-2 x 7) = -2
2y - 14 = -2
2y = 12
y  = + 6
therefore oxidation number of Cr is +6
