Jamie needs to determine the distance across a river. She selects a rock, R, on the opposite river bank. She finds a tree, T, on

her side of the river such that is perpendicular to the river. Next, Jamie walks 50 yards down the river from the tree, T, to a spot, C. Using a compass that she made from two sticks, she measures . She then walks from C in a direction that makes the same angle as with the river bank on her side of the river. She keeps walking in that direction until she sees the tree and the rock in a straight line from her position. She marks this point B and then paces from B to T to measure the distance from point B to the tree. If BT turns out to be 75 yards, what is RT, the distance across the river?

RT = BT = 75

This is because she used the same angle from point C to mark point B, thus creating a symmetric right triangle.

Triangle BCT = Triangle RCT

How do I do these questions?

Step-by-step explanation:

The imaginary part of the number is where i is being multiplied by a constant. The real part is where there is no i present. I'll do a few examples.

26. The real part is 0, since there are no terms that don't have i. The imaginary part is 8i, since i is being multiplied by 8.

27. The real part is 7, since there is no i. The imaginary part is 3i, since i is being multiplied by 3.

31. The real part is 52, since there is no i. The imaginary part is 0i, since i is being multiplied by 0. You don't see the i because zero times i is zero.

Twice a number plus twice a second number is 310. The difference between the numbers is 55. Find the numbers by writing and solv
yan [13]

The numbers are 105 and 50

Solution:

Let "x" be the first number

Let "y' be the second number

Twice a number plus twice a second number is 310

Therefore,

twice of x + twice of y = 310

2x + 2y = 310 ---------- eqn 1

The difference between the numbers is 55

x - y = 55 -------- eqn 2

Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2

From eqn 2,

x = 55 + y ------ eqn 3

Substitute eqn 3 in eqn 1

2(55 + y) + 2y = 310

110 + 2y + 2y = 310

4y = 310 - 110

4y = 200

y = 50

Substitute y = 50 in eqn 3

x = 55 + 50

x = 105

Thus the numbers are 105 and 50
