A girl on roller skates accelerates at a rate of 2 m/sec/sec with a force of 100 N. What is her mass?
Dvinal [7]

By the newtons Second Law:

F = ma

Solving for m:

m = F / a

m = 100 N / 2 m/s²

m = 50 kg → ANSWER

Using the diagram shown, what is the magnitude of the resultant of these three forces?
amid [387]

Explanation:

The x component of the resultant force is the sum of the x components of the individual forces.

Fₓ = 65.0 cos 30° − 20.0 sin 20° − 30.0

Fₓ = 19.5

The y component of the resultant force is the sum of the y components of the individual forces.

Fᵧ = 65.0 sin 30° − 20.0 cos 20°

Fᵧ = 13.7

The magnitude is found with Pythagorean theorem:

F² = Fₓ² + Fᵧ²

F² = (19.5)² + (13.7)²

F = 23.8

When is the zebra in motion? When is it not moving?
frosja888 [35]
Motion depends on what your reference point is. So a good reference point is a tree or a sign, something that is not moving. So if the zebra is walking towards the tree he/she is getting closer to the tree, He/she is in motion. But if the zebra and the tree never get closer or farther apart the zebra is not in motion. HOPE THIS HELPED!! ;D

Suppose you throw a cube-shaped object and a spherical-shaped object of equal volume in the same volume of water. The ball sinks
sergeinik [125]
The objects have different densities
They objects may possess the same volume; however, due to a difference in density, they do not possess the same mass within that volume. This means that they experience a different gravitational force, which causes one to sink and the other to float.
