For all the chemistry people out there. Explain why Benzene is more stable that 1,3,5-hexatriene? ...?

Benzene is more stable because it contains a ring and therefore an aromatic compound. On the other hand, 1,3,5-hexatriene, as a straight-chain alkene, is aliphatic. Aromatic compounds in general are more stable than their aliphatic counterparts because pi electrons are part of a conjugated system, meaning they are "shared" amongst all double-bonded atoms.

A 0.175 M solution of an enantiomerically pure chiral compound D has an observed rotation of +0.27° in a 1-dm sample
-BARSIC- [3]

Answer:

The specific rotation of D is 11.60° mL/g dm

Explanation:

Given that:

The path length (l) =  1 dm

Observed rotation (∝) = + 0.27°

Molarity = 0.175 M

Molar mass = 133.0 g/mol

Concentration in (g/mL) = 0.175 mol/L × 133.0 g/mol

Concentration in (g/mL) = 23.275 g/L

Since 1 L = 1000 mL

Concentration in (g/mL) = 0.023275 g/mL

The specific rotation [∝] = ∝/(1×c)

= 0.27°/( 1  dm ×  0.023275 g/mL )

= 11.60° mL/g dm

Thus, the specific rotation of D is 11.60° mL/g dm

giving the incomplete equation 2N2O5 (g) which set of products completes and balances the incomplete equarion
a_sh-v [17]

Answer:

The complete question is as follows

Given the incomplete equation: 2 N2O5(g) ==>  Which set of products completes and balances the incomplete equation?

A)2 N2(g) + 3 H2(g)

B)2 N2(g) + 2 O2(g)

C)4 NO2(g) + O2(g)

D)4 NO(g) + SO2(g)

The correct option is C) 4NO2(g) + O2(g)

Explanation:

Note that the products should be NO2 and O2 since the reactant is entirely made up of N and O. option A is not correct as hydrogen cannot emerge as a product in this reaction. Matter can never be created or be destroyed bu can only change in a chemical reaction. Option D is not also correct for the same reason.

Option B is not correct since it did not balance the number of atoms of O and N in the reactant side of the equation.

The option C) 4NO2(g) + O2(g) is therefore the right option since it balances both the elements and the number of atoms of the elements present.

explain why it is a common laboratory procedure to heat analytical reagents and store them in a dessicated atmosphere (a sealed
Readme [11.4K]

Explanation:

Most reagent forms are going to absorb water from the air; they're called "hygroscopic".  Water presence can have a drastic impact on the experiment being performed  For fact, it increases the reagent's molecular weight, meaning that anything involving a very specific molarity (the amount of molecules in the final solution) will not function properly.

Heating will help to eliminate water, although some chemicals don't react well to heat, so it shouldn't be used for all.  A dessicated environment is simply a means to  "dry."  That allows the reagent with little water in the air to attach with.
