y=9 because you would need to subtract 3 from both sides because its a -3, adding 3 would cancel it out on one side leaving y=9. 9 is the answer:)-May

well it is 3. y=3

here is the explanation:

1. 3+3=6

2. There is only one letter therefor there can only be one possible multiple (you guessed it 3!)

3. And, well my rank is expert so yeah!

Calculate the rate of acceleration of a 2,000.-kilogram truck if a force of 4,200 N is used to make it start moving forward?
Llana [10]

Answer:

Acceleration, a=2.1\ m/s^2

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of a truck, m = 2000 kg

Force used to move the truck, F = 4200 N

We need to find the acceleration of the truck. The force acting on the truck is given by the expression as follows :

F = ma

a is the acceleration of the truck

a=\dfrac{F}{m}\\\\a=\dfrac{4200}{2000}\\\\a=2.1\ m/s^2

So, the acceleration of the truck is 2.1\ m/s^2.

The "lead" in pencils is a graphite composition with a Young's modulus of about 1 ✕ 10⁹ N/m². Calculate the change in length (in
sweet [91]

Answer:

0.701 mm.

Explanation:

From Hook's law,

Young modulus = Stress/Strain.

Stress = Force/area = F/A

Strain = ΔL/L.

Therefore,

γ = (F/A)/(ΔL/L)

γ = FL/ΔLA ...................... Equation 1

Where γ = Young's modulus, F = Force, L = Length of the pencil, ΔL = change in length of the pencil, A = cross sectional area.

Make ΔL the subject of the equation,

ΔL = FL/γA......................... Equation 2

But,

A = πd²/4......................... Equation 3

Where d = diameter

Substitute equation 3 into equation 2

ΔL = 4FL/γπd²................ Equation 4

Given: F = 4.9 N, L = 55 mm = 0.055 m, d = 0.7 mm = 0.0007 m, γ = 1×10⁹ N/m², π = 3.14.

Substitute into equation 4

ΔL = (4×4.9×0.055)/(1×10⁹×3.14×0.0007²)

ΔL = 1.078/1538.6

ΔL = 7.01×10⁻⁴ m.

ΔL = 0.701 mm.

A person observes that in the winter, his hair stands on end when it is brushed. This is because his hair becomes positively cha
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

Because of the transfer of electrons from hairs to the brush.

Explanation:

In winters, the hairs on brushing usually stands on the ends because when the hairs are rubbed by the brush separation of electrons take place from the parent atoms' nuclei on the hairs and thus the hairs are left positively charged.

Normally the charges are stay together and rectify the effect of each other as one is positive and the other is negative thus making the atoms neutral.

The process due to which the hairs acquire positive charge is known as charging by friction.
