Suppose you are standing in the center of a large, densely populated city that is exactly circular, surrounded by a ring of subu

rbs with lower-density population, surrounded in turn by a ring of farmland. From this specific location, would you say the population distribution is isotropic? Homogeneous?

Answer:

Homogenity means identical and even distribution of matter in every location and isotropic means distribution that is the same in every direction. The population is inhomogeneous because it consist of different species and has an uneven distribution, however it is isotropic because the distribution is the same in every direction. if you were to cut the circular section from the center to the end, in every direction you may look it will always be the same.

An 8-hour exposure to a sound intensity level of 90.0 dB may cause hearing damage. What energy in joules falls on a 0.800-cm-dia
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:

1.4E-3J

Explanation:

Given that

Time = 8hrs = 28.8E3 seconds

Intensity= 90dB

D= 0.008m

Radius= 0.004m

So intensity is sound level Bis

10dBlog(I/Io)

I= 10 (B/10dB)Io

= 10( 90/10) x 10^-12

=0.001W/m²

But we know that

I = P/A

P= I πr²

= 5.02 x10^-8W

But energy is power x time

So E= 5.02E-8 x 28.8E3

= 1.4E-3J

A ball is thrown upward at time t=0 from the ground with an initial velocity of 8 m/s (~ 18 mph). What is the total time it is i
evablogger [386]

Answer:

The total time it is in the air for the ball is 1.6326 s

Given:

Initial velocity = 8 \frac{m}{s}

To find:

the total time it is in the air = ?

Formula used:

t = \frac{v-u}{a}

Where t = time to reach maximum height

v = final velocity of the ball = 0 m/s

u = initial velocity of ball = 8 m/s

a = acceleration due to gravity = -9.8

Acceleration of gravity is taken as negative because ball is moving in opposite direction.

Solution:

A ball is thrown upward at time t=0 from the ground with an initial velocity of 8 m/s.

The time taken by the ball to reach the maximum height is given by,

t = \frac{v-u}{a}

Where t = time to reach maximum height

v = final velocity of the ball = 0 m/s

u = initial velocity of ball = 8 m/s

a = acceleration due to gravity = -9.8

Acceleration of gravity is taken as negative because ball is moving in opposite direction.

t = \frac{0-8}{-9.8}

t = 0.8163 s

Thus, time taken by the ball to reach the ground again = time taken to reach maximum height

So, Total time required for ball to reach ground = 2t = 2 × 0.8163

Total time required for ball to reach ground = 1.6326 s

The total time it is in the air for the ball is 1.6326 s

Help me calculate the kinetic energy (just the middle column) ASAP! SHOW WORK! ON PAPER
lukranit [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

I can tell you what the answers for the middle column are, but if you don't know how to solve total energy problems, they won't make any sense to you at all.

First row, KE = 0

Second row, KE = 220500 J

Third row, KE = 183750 J

Fourth row, KE = 205800 J

That's also not paying any attention to significant digits because your velocity only had 1 and that's not enough to do the problem justice. I left all the digits in the answer. Round how your teacher tells you to.

Una placa de cobre a 20°C tiene unas dimensiones de 65cm x 78 cm. Encuentra el área de la placa a 400°C; Coeficiente de dilataci
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

A_{f} = w\cdot l \cdot [1 + 2\cdot \alpha\cdot (T_{f}-T_{o})] (1)

A_{f} = (65\,cm)\cdot (78\,cm)\cdot \left[1+\left(17\times 10^{-6}\,\frac{1}{^{\circ}C} \right)\cdot (400\,^{\circ}C-20\,^{\circ}C)\right]

A_{f} = 5102.752\,cm^{2}

El área de la placa es aproximadamente 5102.752 centímetros cuadrados.
