Answer:

2 HgO    →      2 Hg + O₂

 (2 x 216.59 g) → gives → (2 x 200.59 g)

  433.18 g   → gives → 401.18 g

    8.74 g     → gives → ? g

by cross multiplication:

Theoretical yield = (401.18 x 8.74) / 433.18 = 8.094 g

% yield = (actual yield / theoretical yield) * 100

            = (6.42 / 8.09) * 100 = 79.3 %

A bug travels at the rate of 3 miles/hours. How fast is this in um/nsec
sergij07 [2.7K]
Change units:

1 mile = 1609.34 m = 1609.34 * 10^6 micro m = 1.60934 * 10^9 m

1 hour = 3600 s = 3600 * 10^9 nano seconds = 3.6*10^12 nano sec

3 miles / hour = 3 * 1.60934 * 10^9 / (3.6*10^12) = 0.0013411 micro m/nano second = 1.3411*10^(-3) um / ns

Cherylanne mixes together Chemical A and Chemical B in a test tube, forming Chemical C. The mixture instantly turns cool to the
mina [271]

Answer : Chemicals A and B form an endothermic reaction, and chemicals C and D form an exothermic reaction.

Explanation :

Endothermic reaction : When the system absorb heat from the surrounding then the surrounding become cool.

Exothermic reaction : when the system releases heat into the surrounding then the surrounding become hot.

According to the question,

when we mixed chemical A and chemical B together in a test tube to form chemical C, the mixture become cool. This means that the system is absorbing heat from the surrounding and thus the reaction is called a endothermic reaction.

And when we added chemical D in chemical C, the new mixture becomes hot and explodes. This means that the system is releasing heat into the surrounding and thus the reaction is called as exothermic reaction.

Why did the Mt. Pinatubo eruption result in global temperatures dropping almost two degrees?
sveticcg [70]

Answer:

In the case of Mount Pinatubo, the result was a measurable cooling of the Earth's surface for a period of almost two years. Because they scatter and absorb incoming sunlight, aerosol particles exert a cooling effect on the Earth's surface.
