Subshell S is likely to be filled before the rest of the subshells

Explanation:

According to Aufbau's principle, in the ground state of an atom electrons will first enter into the lowest energy level orbital.

Hence, 1s sub-shell will be filled before 2s sub-shell is occupied.

A sub-shell that is closer to the nucleus and that has lowest energy is the "s" sub-shell.

So, an electron will most likely enter into first shell, that is, n = 1. Hence, 1s will be the sub-shell in which the electron will enter first.

For example, electronic configuration of lithium atom is 1s^{2}2s^{1}.

Therefore, we can conclude that 1s subshell is likely to be filled before the rest of the subshells at a particular energy level.

can we stir silver nitrate solution with copper spoon? why or why not? support your answer with reason.
HACTEHA [7]

↪ Hello miss "galaxyu035" here's your answer for the question you wrote.

Answer :

No, we cannot stir silver nitrate solution with a copper spoon because , copper is more reactive than silver. Thus,it would displace silver from the silver nitrate solution forming copper nitrate.

When the reactive alkali metal sodium is reacted with poisonous chlorine gas, sodium chloride or table salt is produced. Is mass
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

Yes, Mass is conserved.

Explanation:

Every chemical reactions obey the law of conservation of mass. The law of conservation of mass states that in chemical reactions, mass is always constant.

     Equation:

                       2Na + Cl₂ → 2NaCl

From the equation above, one can observe that the reaction started using 2 atoms of Na and it produced 2 atoms of the same element in NaCl. A molecule of Cl produced 2 atoms of Cl in the NaCl

Design a simple experiment to support your answer:

Aim: To demonstrate the law of conservation of mass

   One Na atom weighs 23g

   Two Na atom will weigh 2 x 23 = 46g

1 atom of Cl is 35.5g

1 molecule of Cl containing two atoms of Cl will weigh 2 x 35.5 = 71g

Total mass of reactants = mass of 2Na + 1Cl₂ = (46 + 71)g = 117g

On the product side, Mass of 1 NaCl = 23+ 35.5 = 58.5g

Two moles of NaCl will give 2 x 58.5g = 117g

Since the mass on both side is the same, one can say mass is conserved.

Suppose you have made the following hypothesis: The greater the height from which you drop a ball, the faster the ball will be t
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

C. A ball dropped from a height of 10 m will hit the ground at a higher speed than an identical ball dropped from a height of 5 m.

Explanation:

The statement of the hypothesis is that " the greater the height from which you drop a ball, the faster the ball will be traveling when it hits the ground because gravity has more time to speed it up ".

The hypothesis statement is quite explicit. We can deduce that objects at a higher height above the ground will hit the ground much more faster and harder compared to those at a shorter height.

A ball at height of 10m is expected to drop with a higher speed on the ground compared to an identical ball at a height of 5m.

If the balls are at the same height, they are expected to fall with the same speed so far they are identical. Also, a ball at a shorter height will fall at a lower speed.

Andrei [34K]

OP already did it - CONGRATS!!

here are the steps 2 get the same ans:

(NH4)2 CO3 has 2x N, 8x H, 1x C and 3x O per molecule

so its molecular mass = 2x14 + 8x1 + 1x12 + 3x16

=28+8+12+48

=96g

of that 96g, 8x1=8g is due to Hydrogen

so by ratio n proportion, 1.00g will have 1x8/96 = 1/12g = 0.083g of H
