Original cost of the necklace = $28
Percentage by which the store reduces the price of the necklace = 20%
Amount of discount given
by the store on the necklace = (20/100) * 28
                                               = 28/5 dollars
                                               = 5.6 dollars
So
The price of the necklace after discount = (28 - 5.6) dollars
                                                                 = 22.4 dollars
Amount of discount on coupon = $2
Then
Price of the necklace after deducting coupon discount = (22.4 - 2) dollars
                                                                                        = 20.4 dollars
So Janet will pay 20.4 dollars for the necklace.

Which is larger 18% or 2/11?
Cloud [144]

2/11 is larger.

Explanation :

Because if you cover it to decimal,

18% will be 0,18 only

but

2/11 will be 0,188888-

which means it can be 0,19 if 2 decimal behind coma and of course 0,19 is larger dan 0,18

try devide 2 with 11 .

What would you do to solve the system?
kipiarov [429]
Answer:

Explanation:

12x = 48 - 8y
10x + 8y = 38
———————
12x + 8y = 48
10x + 8y = 38
———————
12x + 8y = 48
-1(10x + 8y = 38)
————————
12x + 8y = 48
-10x - 8y = -38
————————
2x = 10
x = 10/2 = 5

If x = 5 then:
10x + 8y = 38
10(5) + 8y = 38
50 + 8y = 38
8y = 38 - 50
8y = -12
y = -12/8
y = -3/2

Therefore, x = 5 and y = -3/2
