The formula for kinetic energy is ...

K = (.5)(M)(V^2)

As you can see, mass and speed are in the equation, so it means it directly impacts the magnitude of kinetic energy. Also kinetic energy is energy in motion. If it's moving, it has kinetic energy.

1. A truck with a mass of 8, 000 kg is traveling at 26.8 m/s when it hits the brakes. A.)What is the momentum of the truck befor
NikAS [45]

Answer:

1. A.) The moment of the truck before it hits the brakes is 214,400 kg·m/s

B.) The force it takes to stop the truck is approximately 17,290.4 N

Explanation:

1. A.) The given parameters are;

The mass of the truck, m = 8,000 kg

The velocity of the truck when it hits the brakes, u = 26.8 m/s

Momentum = Mass × Velocity

The moment of the truck = The mass of the truck × The velocity of the truck

Therefore;

The moment of the truck before it hits the brakes = 8,000 kg × 26.8 m/s = 214,400 kg·m/s

B.) The amount of momentum lost when the truck comes to a stop = The initial momentum of the truck

The time it takes the truck to come to a complete stop, t = 12.4 s

The deceleration, "a" of the truck is given by the following kinematic equation of motion

v = u - a·t

Where;

v = The final velocity of the truck = 0 m/s

u = The initial velocity = 26.8 m/s

a = the deceleration of the truck

t = The time of deceleration of the truck = 12.4 s

Substituting the known values gives;

0 = 26.8 - a × 12.4

Therefore;

26.8 = a × 12.4

a = 26.8/12.4 ≈ 2.1613

The deceleration (negative acceleration) of the truck, a ≈ 2.1613 m/s²

Force = Mass × Acceleration

The force required to stop the truck = The mass pf the truck × The deceleration (negative acceleration) given to the truck

∴ The force it takes to stop the truck = 8,000 kg × 2.1613 m/s² ≈ 17,290.4 N.

S Four point charges each having charge Q are located at the corners of a square having sides of length a. Find expressions for(
Ket [755]

The total electric potential at the center of the square due to the four charges is V  = √2Q/πÈa.

<h3>What do you mean by electric potential? </h3>

The amount of work needed to move a unit charge from a reference point to a specific point against an electric field. It's SI unit is volt.

V = kq/r

Where V represents electric potential, K is coulomb constant, q  is Charge and r is distance between any  two around charge to the point charge.

Electric potential at O due to four charges is given by,

V = 4KQ/ r

where, r = √2a/2 = a/√2

V = 4k × Q√2/a

V  = √2Q/πÈa

The total electric potential at the center of the square due to the four charges is V  = √2Q/πÈa.

A 2.6 kg mass attached to a light string rotates on a horizontal,
Ainat [17]

The maximum speed the mass can have before it breaks is 2.27 m/s.

The given parameters:

  • <em>maximum mass the string can support before breaking, m = 17.9 kg</em>
  • <em>radius of the circle, r = 0.525 m</em>

The maximum speed the mass can have before it breaks is calculated as follows;

T = ma_c\\\\Mg = \frac{Mv^2}{r} \\\\v^2 = rg\\\\v = \sqrt{rg} \\\\v_{max} = \sqrt{0.525 \times 9.8} \\\\v_{max} = 2.27 \ m/s

Thus, the maximum speed the mass can have before it breaks is 2.27 m/s.

A plane flies along a straight line path after taking off, and it ends up 220 km farther east and 100.0 km farther north, relati
love history [14]

Answer:

North east

Explanation:

The distance travelled by a plane from one point to another is the shortest distance between the two points. This distance travelled is usually a straight line path from point 1 to point 2.

Since the plane ends up 220 km farther east and 100.0 km farther north, the direction of flight for the plane is in the North-East direction.

Let x represent the distance travelled by the plane. Hence:

x² = 100² + 220²

x² = 58400

x = 241.66 km
