Answer:

The red side of the magnetic needle always points to the North (we can assume that a ray is being created in this direction), and the front point of the compass (where the 12 would be in a clock) represents the direction in which you are walking (another ray comes in this direction).

Both rays are creating an angle, where the vertex is the center of the compass.

Then the angle in the image represents the angle that is being formed between your actual path and the North.

Or in other words, the angle represents that you are moving at θ from North.

(where θ is positive because is measured counterclockwise)

What is the primary cause of diffusion?
Lostsunrise [7]
Answer
c). random internal motion of atoms and molecules.

Explanation
Diffusion is the movement of particles from a region of high concentration to region of low concentration. The rate of diffusion can be increased by increasing amount of temperature but this is not its primary cause. Diffusion is primarily caused by movement of molecules or atoms in a substances. Form the choices given, the correct answer is c. random internal motion of atoms and molecules.

Answer:

PART A

In a solid

The attractive forces keep the particles together tightly enough so that the particles do not move past each other. ... In the solid the particles vibrate in place. Liquid – In a liquid, particles will flow or glide over one another, but stay toward the bottom of the container.

In a liquid

Particles are quite close together and move with random motion throughout the container. Particles move rapidly in all directions but collide with each other more frequently than in gases due to shorter distances between particles.

A gas

The particles move rapidly in all directions, frequently colliding with each other and the side of the container. With an increase in temperature, the particles gain kinetic energy and move faster.

PART B

The molecules are continually colliding with each other and with the walls of the container. When a molecule collides with the wall, they exert small force on the wall The pressure exerted by the gas is due to the sum of all these collision forces. The more particles that hit the walls, the higher the pressure.
