Al

Explanation:

The limiting reactant will be Al:

        4Al + 3O₂ → 2Al₂O₃

The limiting reactant is the reactant in short supply in a chemical reaction.

     Given parameters:

  Mass of Al = 30g  Molar mass = 27g/mol

         Number of moles = \frac{mass}{molar mass} =  \frac{30}{27}

         Number of moles of Al = 1.111 mole

  Mass of O₂ = 30g, molar mass = 32g/mol

   Number of moles =  \frac{30}{32} = 0.94mol

In the reaction:

          4 moles of Al reacted with 3 moles of O₂

         1.11moles of Al will require \frac{1.11 x3}{4} = 0.83mole to react

But we have been given 0.94mole of O₂. This is more than required.

Therefore O₂ is in excess and Al is the limiting reactant.

If the mass of the products measured 120g what would the mass of the reactants
Ket [755]
It has to be 120g because each and every chemical equation has to satisfy the law of conservation of mass, ie sum of mass of products is always equal to the sum of masses of reactants. If reactants=120g, then products=120g

This patient has a bone density of 820mg/cm3. What is the volume of a 25g sample?
mamaluj [8]

<u>Answer:</u> The volume of bone for given sample is 30.49cm^3

<u>Explanation:</u>

To calculate volume of a substance, we use the equation:

\text{Density of substance}=\frac{\text{Mass of substance}}{\text{Volume of substance}}

Density of bone = 820mg/cm^3=0.82g/cm^3      (Conversion factor:  1 g = 1000 mg)

Mass of bone = 25 g

Putting values in above equation, we get:

0.82g/cm^3=\frac{25g}{\text{Volume of bone}}\\\\\text{Volume of bone}=30.49cm^3

Hence, the volume of bone for given sample is 30.49cm^3
