Why are we not crushed by the weight of the atmosphere on our shoulders?
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

Due to equal pressure in all the direction at a particular level in a fluid medium (Pascal's Law)

Explanation:

We are not crushed by the weight of the atmosphere because atmosphere is a fluid and we are immersed into it. So, according to the Pascal's law the the pressure a each point in a horizontal level is equal in all the direction irrespective of the orientation of a body.

Variation of pressure in term of the height of a fluid medium is given as:

P=\rho.g.h

\rho=density of fluid

g = acceleration due to gravity

h = height of the free surface of the fluid from the immersed object.

  • And atmosphere has very less variation of pressure with change in height as it is a rare medium fluid and so for a human height there is very negligible variation of pressure at the heat of a human with respect to his toe.

Which choice correctly describes what happens during heating?
Masja [62]

Answer:

Option 4

Explanation:

During heating actually heat transfer takes place from a body at higher temperature to a body at lower temperature and the heat transfer takes place until both attain the same temperature

Therefore heat transfer depends on the temperature of the systems

Now while comparing the thermal energies of the systems, if both the systems have same mass then the system which is at higher temperature has greater thermal energy when compared to the system which is at lower temperature

So in this case assuming that both the systems have same mass then the energy will leave the system with greater thermal energy and go into the system with less thermal energy as the system with greater thermal energy in this case will be at higher temperature and we are considering this assumption because thermal energy not only depends on temperature but also depends on mass of the system

8. How did the measured angular magnification of the telescope compare with the theoretical prediction?
Genrish500 [490]

Complete Question

The complete question is shown on the first uploaded image

Answer:

The theoretical angular magnification lies within the angular magnification range

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The  focal length of  B  is  f_{objective } =  43.0 \ cm

    The focal length of  A  is   f_{eye} =  10.4 \  cm

The  theoretical angular  magnification is mathematically represented as

           m = \frac{f_{objective }}{f_{eye}}  =  \frac{43.0}{10.4}

            m = \frac{f_{objective }}{f_{eye}}  =  4.175

Form the question the measured angular magnification ranges from 4 -5

So from the value calculated and the value given we can deduce that the theoretical angular  magnification lies within the angular magnification range
