A 15 g turntable is covered with a uniform layer of dry ice that has a mass of 9.0 g. The angular speed of the turntable and dry

ice is initially 0.75 rad/s. What is the angular speed of the turntable once all the dry ice has evaporated?

Answer:

1.2 rad/s

Explanation:

m1 = 15 g, m2 = 9 g, ω1 = 0.75 rad/s

Let the new angular speed is ω2 and the radius of the table be r.

The angular momentum is conserved when no external torque is applied.

I1 ω1 = I2 ω2

(m1 + m2)x r^2 x 0.75 = m1 x r^2 x ω2

(15 + 9) x 0.75 = 15 x ω2

ω2 = 1.2 rad/s

the weight of 80 kg of mass on mercury is 296 N and almost identical to the weight of the same mass on Mars but mercury has much
Dmitrij [34]
Where Gravity rely's on only mass and distance and nothing else, so the weight on the planets will vary like you have stated. However Mars is smaller than Mercury, so the weight on Mars will be less, and the weight on Mercury will be more. Think this way.

More Mass = More Gravity = More Weight

Less Mass = Less Gravity = Less Weight

A 0.3 g mosquito is flying toward a girl with a speed of 4.5 mph. Just before landing on the girl, the fly is swatted straight b
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

1.1x10^-2N

Explanation:

We have the change in momentum as

P = 0.3(4.5+12)g.mph

= 0.3x0.447x(4.5+12)x10^-3

Then the force that is exerted will be

F = p/∆t

∆t = 0.2

= 0.3x0.447x(4.5+12)x10^-3/0.2

= 0.1341x16.5x10^-3/0.2

= 1.1x10^-2

Therefore the force that was exerted is equal to 1.1x10^-2
