1) Assertion: On Freely suspending a current carrying solenoid, it comes to rest in N-S direction just like a bar-magnet.
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

Explanation:

1. A solenoid is a coil which has many turns. When current flows through a solenoid, it behaves as an electromagnet. This behavior is due to the magnetic effect of an electric current thereby causing one end of the solenoid to behave as a north pole, while the other end as a south pole. The external influence of the earth's magnetism constrains the solenoid to come to rest in a N-S position just like a bar magnet.

2. The magnetic compass can be used to trace the alignments or patterns of the magnetic field around a current carrying wire. When current flows in a wire, it induces magnetic field around it. If the value of current is increased, the strength of the magnetic field would increase and vice versa. This shows that current is proportional to the strength of the magnetic field produced around the wire. Thus this causes a deflection of the compass appropriately, as the deflection of the compass is proportional to the strength of the field.

What are two ways of changing PE?
Anna35 [415]
Potential energy is simply energy that can be but isn't yet
it can also be changed by putting it into motion or setting it off by using force or enacting gravity by dropping it.

Which pair correctly identifies the strongest and weakest fundamental forces,
Kay [80]

Answer: Option B.

Strong nuclear force Gravity.

Explanation:

Nuclear force is the strongest force while Gravity is the weakest force. Strong nuclear force is the strongest force because it's act and hold atoms of matter together. It also binds neutrons and protons together to form atomic nuclei and it's has strength of 1.

Gravity is considered the weak force out of the four fundamental forces because it has a very small strength of 10^40 than electromagnetic force.
