In the event that you investigate where Chromium is on the intermittent table, it is one electron far from having 5 electrons in its 3d-subshell and a more prominent general strength. Consequently, with a specific end goal to accomplish this more attractive state, one of the 4s electrons is elevated to the 3d sub shell, accomplishing the half-full orbital and bringing about just a single electron staying in the 4s (valence) shell. Copper does this too.

in groud state, the atom that has two valence electrons would be: Cr or Chromium The atoms that have two valence electrons are grouped on the second collumn in periodic tables, which is called the Alkaline earth metals. The elements that belonged to this group are: Berrylium, Magnesium, Chromium, Strontium, Barium, and radium.

How many single covalent bonds could an element with the electron
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

1

Explanation:

I would say 1 because that configuration has 7 valence electrons. The goal of the atom is to gain a full octet so it just needs to gain 1 more electron to get the full octet. To get the one electron to fill the valence shell it would only need to have 1 covalent bond.

I hope this helps. Let me know if anything is unclear.

What is the percentage of water in the hydrate CoCl2 • 6H2O? Show your work.
Lelu [443]
Hello!

First you have to find the molar mass of the molecules

C = 12
O = 16
2Cl = 71
6H2O = 108

Add them up to find the total molar mass

12 + 16 + 71 + 108 = 207g/mol

Divide the amount of water by the total molar mass

108 / 207 = 0.5217

Convert this to a decimal

0.5217 = 52.17%

The answer is 52.17%

Hope this helps!

A lab technician mixed a 550 ml solution of water and alcohol. if 3% of the solution is alcohol, how many milliliters of alcoh
kupik [55]

The solution 550 ml total and first we will find the amount of alcohol. 3% = 0.03 550 ml x .03 = 16.5 ml alcohol
Then to find the amount of water used, we just have to subtract the amount of alcohol from the total volume
550 ml total - 16.5 ml alcohol = 533.5 ml water
