B => Mg° => Mg⁺² + 2e⁻

Explanation:

2Mg° + O₂ => 2MgO  rewrite => Mg° + 1/2O₂ => 2MgO

Oxidation Half Rxn => Mg° => Mg⁺² + 2e⁻
